Nygdan, when I was a baby. We visited my grandmothers home, she lived in a "holler" in West Virginia. She cooked on a wood stove. No running water, she had a well.
So my mother decides I need a bath. She gets out the washtub, fills it with a mix of boiling and cold water until it's just right. Then she plops me in, and begins talking to my grandmother. That is, unitl I begin screaming, wah wah wah! (only words I knew).
DOH!
She had put the tub on the woodstove, still hot from cooking dinner..then me!
I was the frog!
