Looks like we haven't rid of it yet.

www.cnn.com
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Senate leaders reached a bipartisan agreement Wednesday night to extend expiring and controversial provisions of the Patriot Act for six months.

I have my doubts that it is going away. It was nice to think that it was going to be stopped, but I will believe it when it is actually dropped and the date has passed.

Don't hold your breath on those 16 provisions either, when they say they are trying to reach a deal, that means a compromise.

The subject line is quite misleading. Only the Senate passed that version, the House has not and it has not been signed into Law.

A one month extension until Feb 3rd appears likely to be passed.

In other words, it is still under serious debate as to what to do with the Patriot Act.
