Hey guys!

A friend of mine served in the norwegian navy and told me that one time they found a part (I was told it was a fuel tank) from a russian underwater missile. He was told by the officers that this missile was top secret stuff and that it could pretty much travel around the world under water.

There were claims of nuclear power, but I don't see how this could be possible in such a small size missile. And if it was nuclear powered, why would it need a fuel tank?

Anyway, I want to ask you good people at ATS if anyone has heard anything about this kind of military technology?

Sounds like a good idea to me. Right up there with huge flying aircraft carriers.

Why would you make a missile using atomic propulsion? The whole point of nuclear submarines is so that they can remain submerged for long periods. A missile (torpedo) only has to remain submerged for as long as it takes to deliver the payload. Perhaps it is an atomic warhead with diesel propulsion.
