While interesting....it can't be true...

How would it ingest food & water? Even if not dying of blood loss, and no nervous system control, it'd eventually die of dehydration....

Or am I simply taking this way too seriously...???

if you had a chicken that kept living maybe you could pump stuff into its blood, you would have to be really sad though or on a bet

It's actually true. I looked up the story when I first heard it. (and it was a bad job of decapitation, BTW.)

The owner kept the chicken alive, using an eyedropper to give it water and tweezers to give it grain (remember, chickens don't chew. They have crops (and swallow gravel) and the 'chewing' is done in that stomach.)

As a young child I was in charge of chasing down the chicken once it had been beheaded. I have seen them live for hours afterwards.
