So China has been threatening the Philippines for awhile now.

They are trying to claim Philippine waters as their own and building islands and putting bases.

The conflict has escalated March 23:

"China's continued interference with the Philippines' routine and lawful activities in its own exclusive economic zone (EEZ) is unacceptable," the Philippine foreign ministry said in a statement, which announced the charge d'affaires of the Chinese embassy had been summoned and a diplomatic protest lodged in Beijing.

"It infringes upon the Philippines' sovereign rights and jurisdiction," it said, demanding Chinese vessels leave the area.

China's coastguard said on Saturday it took necessary measures against Philippine vessels that were intruding in its waters.

China claims almost the entire South China Sea as its own, including the Second Thomas Shoal, which is within the Philippines' 200 mile (320 km) EEZ.

Biden recently said back off and Xi said don’t mess with us or there will be war.

US President Joe Biden has warned China that the US will defend the Philippines in case of any attack in the disputed South China Sea.

The comments come days after two collisions between Filipino and Chinese vessels in the contested waters.

Mr Biden reiterated his "ironclad" defence commitment to the Philippines.

Manila has contested Chinese claims to the waters, cutting floating barriers and inviting media to film what it calls Beijing's dangerous moves at sea.

China blames the Philippines as not following agreements former Philippine President Duterte agreed to, but the shoal/water is within the 200 mile waters that are Philippines and Philippines say they never agreed to remove grounded ship.

China arguing the minutia might be right about the "gentleman’s agreement" with ex-president, but the overall reality is these are Philippine waters and China is trying to take them over inch by inch.

It’s been going on for a while.

They have been inviting reporters to witness what China has been doing.

Yeah, countries like the Philippines are getting chased out of their own waters by Chinese military on a daily basis who are trying to lay claim to swathes of the ocean.

China is trying to be aggressive with Vietnam and things are escalating between the two communist countries.

Other countries seem to have had enough of the Chinese B.S. and IMO until there is strong push back against the Chinese Bully they the Chinese will continue to force their way into the south China sea. I hope I live long enough to see the CCP's downfall !
