Am I hearing right?

MSM says the "warnings" were sent out by "The Ship" less than one minute before impact? What! 😃

A perfect time to execute a hack like this is during a Solar Storm. Perfect. 😊

Prayers to those that are lost and injured from this horrific accident.

I watch worldwide news and I listened to a Canadian structural engineer commenting that the bridge was built in 1977 and at that time the cargo container ships were half the size so I am assuming that the engineering of the bridge took into account the potential impact of such a collision by ship's size and weight. Now I was watching U.S. news and another structural engineer just stated that there is no bridge they can build that would be able to withstand a collision such as this one. Why can't they just reinforce bridge footing pillars by surrounding them with additional cement/steel pillars, or was it because the ship struck the connected as one piece, upper part of the bridge thereby causing it to collapse as dominos would? Engineers need to rethink how to build bridges.

video of MV BRIGHT FIELD crashing into riverside shopping center in New Orleans - 1997

www.youtube.com...

Clogged oil filter caused engine to shut down and go out of control

Notice similarity ...

Problem with engines result in loss of control

Those examples have nothing to do with the Baltimore disaster. Nothing at all. 😃

Why would you even present something like that at a time like this?

They can put in barriers called dolphins that would help protect that supports. At the time the Key Bridge was constructed, dolphins were not in use. There was a proposal a few years back to retrofit the bridge with them but it was deemed to be too expensive.

Despite the power going out about a minute before the boat crashed into a major bridge support.

Looked like an accident to me.

Why do you assume otherwise?

Don't mind xuenchen. They're just establishing beyond a shadow of a doubt that they're a propaganda account.

The name would suggest Chinese. The methodology though would suggest Russia.

There is also the issue of the cargo ships being very much taller these days, there has to be more than just dolphins constructed, IMO.

The bridge is a 1970s design.

And cargo ships were not anywhere near as large back then.

"dolphins" would have been prudent all the same but at the end of the day it will have been about the money they would have cost to install vs the risk of something like this taking place.

Well the risk seems to have grown bigger now and they should take into account the age/condition of such ships and whether or not the risk of failure has also grown. So, structural engineers need to rethink a few things, IMO.

I totally agree with you quintessentone.

But money talks and it will all come down to the likes of risk management.
