A payment made to the adult film actress Stormy Daniels shortly before the 2016 election.
Ms Daniels says she was paid $130,000 (£103,000) to stay quiet after having sex with Mr Trump, who denies they ever had an affair.
It's worth noting, though, that providing so-called hush money is not in fact illegal.
Instead, this case is more technical and centres on how Mr Trump's former lawyer, who paid Ms Daniels, had his reimbursement recorded in Mr Trump's accounts.
The former president is accused of falsifying his business records by saying the payment was for legal fees. He's facing 34 counts of fraud under campaign finance laws, and has pleaded not guilty to all of them.
What's it about?
Whether Mr Trump illegally conspired to overturn his 2020 election defeat to Joe Biden.
Federal prosecutors allege he pressured officials to reverse the results, knowingly spread lies about election fraud and sought to exploit the Capitol riot on 6 January 2021 to delay the certification of Mr Biden's victory and stay in power.
What's it about?
Mr Trump and some 18 other defendants are accused of criminally conspiring to overturn his very narrow defeat in the state of Georgia in the 2020 election.
The huge racketeering investigation, led by Georgia prosecutor Fani Willis, was sparked in part by a leaked phone call in which the former president asked the state's top election official to "find 11,780 votes".
What's it about?
Whether Mr Trump mishandled classified documents by taking them from the White House to his Mar-a-Lago residence after he left office.
It's also about whether he obstructed the FBI's efforts to retrieve the files, as well as the criminal investigation into his handling of them.
The majority of the counts are for the wilful retention of national defence information, which falls under the Espionage Act.

Undoubtedly the dirtiest politics that I have ever seen in the US. Shame on the Democrats and Rinos.

the only case that has any legs is the documents case, and with the Hur Report letting Joe off the hook for years of abuse of classified documents, the only thing left of the Trump case is obstruction, and if having the documents isn't a punishable crime, then there also is no obstruction. If it is a crime, then Joetatoe also needs to be arrested and charged. It can't be both ways, unless you use the clown world factor.
On January 12, 2018, The Wall Street Journal reported that in October 2016, just before the 2016 United States presidential election, Michael Cohen, lawyer for then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, arranged a payment of US$130,000 to pornographic film actress Stormy Daniels to stop her disclosing an affair she and Trump allegedly had in 2006. Daniels had signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). At first, Cohen denied Trump had the alleged affair and sought to suppress the allegation based on the NDA, but a month later publicly acknowledged making the payment.

Remember it was Cohen who actually paid Stormy. All Trump did was pay Cohen some legal fees.
Stormy also has denied the affair with Trump several times.
But the bombshells will be hot later. 😀

The one thing that makes this particular trial unlikely to go anywhere is the precedent already set. It couldn't be tried federally because of the case against John Edward's I believe. The "D" that paid hush money to his mistress from his campaign funds while running for POTUS. Which is why they are trying to prosecute it on a state level.

Can't do anything until June.
Supreme Court needs to rule on his immunity privilege before any case can be tried. It might be a wacky challenge, to assume total immunity, but it's one that weighs in on all other cases.
Nothing can happen until then.
Then he can play the "delay precedings" game on grounds it interferes with his ability to run his campaign (probably).
I feel it's very likely no trial gets wrapped up before November. I'm sure the hope there being he can get elected and squash the "two-tiered" proceedings against himself.
If I had to guess.
