Modern versions of the Bible usually omit the addition to 1 John 5:7, but some place it in a footnote, with a comment indicating that "it is not found in the earliest manuscripts". This is why many including Sir Isaac Newton saw the trinity as corruption of scripture. Which in effect makes the church, spokesperson for God. Papal infallibility and all that nonsense. Just men seeking political powers at the expense of people seeking spirituality.
