I doubt this is really all that significant. The US doesn't want direct confrontation with Russia, especially in this part of the world.

The plan seems more about using the Ukraine to weaken them economically and politically so that they collapse from within. Both have not only failed so far, but backfired.

Russia has simply found new and more reliable trading partners, Europe is struggling (as is much of the world with higher energy prices thanks to US led sanctions), the US has lost much influence with the emerging countries, and there is a concerted movement amongst them to find ways of bypassing the US financial system. Western propaganda doesn't reflect that reality of course.

How is it their lives mean less to you than Ukraine becoming a part of NATO? Because this is essentially what this is. Ukraine has essentially written these people off in favor of NATO membership.

I see this as a perfect opportunity for the people in America who have been flapping their gums for a year and a half now to sign up and go kill some Russians for Raytheon, Lockheed, the MIC, and our corrupt president and his families shady business dealings in Ukraine.

I mean why not. They have convinced us to support extremists in Syria, Libya, and numerous other countries that have been destabilized by American, NATO, and IMF interests. Ukraine is the new Afghanistan...

Your hatred of the US and NATO seems to colour your opinions and rule out any criticism of Russians actions and many war crimes.

If the so-called separatist, Putin's money, equipment, and Mercs were not fighting for 8 years none of that would have happened. Operation Atlantic Resolve is the official name of the unofficial operation supporting the war in Ukraine, and is in response to Russia's invasion of the Donbass region. Operation Atlantic Resolve has been funded under the European Deterrence Initiative, and is intended, thus far, to strengthen NATO. The US has military in Eastern Europe, but has not called on Americans to fight to defend Ukraine.

"I hereby determine that it is necessary to augment the active Armed Forces of the United States for the effective conduct of Operation Atlantic Resolve in and around the United States European Command’s area of responsibility," President Joe Biden said.

For some context, Biden today was in Hellsinkio n the heels of meeting with the NATO and Zelensky.

Apparently something during those meetings may have caused this.

President Biden is readying military forces to deploy to Europe. He made a promise to the American people in March 2022 that US troops would not be sent to fight in Ukraine on behalf of that nation's borders or in service to waging war against Russia.

There has been no public made notion of trying to deescalate the situation.

For those of you who keep saying "it can end when Russia goes home" is simply not living or thinking within reality so allow me to pre-lol you.
