Of course it is, they would be insane not to. But there’s a lot more noise underwater than people realize. So simply detecting a sound consistent with an implosion doesn’t mean they knew immediately that it was Titan.

Yes, sir. Agreed. Sir..I heard yesterday that it's absolutely ( basically!)..quiet, cold n dark...they said (James Cameron?) that sound along the floor can travel 1,000 miles.

There’s a lot of noise beyond human hearing that passive sonar picks up. So the network is picking up a lot of noise that has to be sifted through.
