The unsettling reality is that America in the not-too-distant future is going to have a lot in common with partial-collapse societies of Eastern Europe and Latin America where gangs have more power and influence than the government; where politicians pass the laws but gangs enforce the rules.
The Collusion is Total!
This is exactly what I see going on, deliberate and with intent.
Corrupt career parasite politicians, are not loyal to the Constitution.
There is no mistaking the facts, history is undisputed, and repeats.
Are we really going to go down that road?
Are the majority of Americans socialist democrats...?!
No.
The time to prove it is now.

It is a problem with our society, not so much with the difference between the wealthy and poor. There is a similar but different definition of Rich people vs wealthy people to consider.
It is a problem with greedy people who want to increase their wealth that hurts the poor. I know plenty of wealthy people who started businesses and create a living for people, paying a livable wage means they make less for themselves and if they pay too much, they can not float the ups and downs of their business and wind up laying people off or go belly up. I also know some people who like to profit excessively, but I don't really care to associate with those kind of people much but I have seen some of them hit their goal too, then help those who are in need once they got to where they wanted to be.
I don't judge others very often because I have seen people do one eighties in the past.
The mid to upper middle class is often the group that causes problems and their desire to make more and more wages even though their work does not justify it causes prices to rise. Their increased labor costs raise prices quite a bit. At one time the middle class paid a lot of taxes, but lately, it seems that people in this class tend to find loopholes to lessen their taxes.
It was much better in the sixties and seventies when we had lots more factories in this country manufacturing products Americans needed.

The majority of the middle class is the working poor. The true middle class was a false promise, that has fallen away.
With each generation they found a way to appease us, to keep us under control, and believing that they knew the way, and was showing us how to get there. Unfortunately, that could only work for so long. The truth will endure forever, but a lie will wither in the light.
The work, play by the rules, and you will live the life of Riley, was only good for about a generation or two. After that, the cracks in the foundation started to become apparent. Each year we were led into more debt, wanting more things, chasing happiness, looking for fulfillment. Each year we got no closer to the top, and each year, each tier became wider, with more obstacles and bridges to cross. Until it became evident that the majority of us were never really moving up that mountain, and never going to make it to the top.
When folk started to see the truth we got hit with everything they could throw at us. They even manufactured a novel virus, and locked us down, while they got the other blocks in place. Many are still satisfied with, "At least I am doing better than the other guy" solution.
The young folk started to see the lights of their future turning dim, so many just gave up on tomorrow, and they decided to just live in the moment. They could no longer visualize a profitable future, so they placed their happiness in fantasy, in the virtual world, where even if they have to give up all control, at least they will have joy in the moment.
There is no going back to normal. Because normal was a lie.
The only chance we have is to learn from our mistakes and build on them. Big problem with that is that we have to do that together and we are more divided than ever.
The test will be if we can reset our minds. Because without resetting our minds, we don't stand a chance.

You haven't been around ATS very long have you?
No of course you have not, otherwise you would have seen the plethora of threads I have started since 2003, explaining exactly what you ask in your question.
