My late night TV monolog opener

Practicing to host a late night TV show, here ismy first monolog, what do you think?

So, it seems to me, that this update we are seeing, is actually to sway our opinion?

It just seems odd that we are seeing issues with the S/F feature. Weird how some topics are getting them like Biden getting 81 million votes.

With mysterious new owners, and an atmosphere filled with conspiracies, it's like who is watching us.

a little member-centric, but I think most of us would definitely get your drift.

Frankly, there is always a 'presence' of conspiracy theory here... there will always be, I would guess.

There are alternatives to the idea that ATS is some kind of PSYOP, or duck-blind, for conspirators of various types of oppressively postured minions of orthodoxy... radical gestapo-esque soldiers of ideology..., disingenuous purveyors of alternatively 'new-speak' or 'dogmatic institutional-ism.' Take your pick.

We've kind of hear it all... (and nothing against you or your idea, but) over and over...

Some can generate this kind of idea spontaneously, off the top of their heads, in any comment, projecting that commonly accepted, and often appreciated, artful practice of mental memery. Others simply echo the comments of others - whether expressed as apprehension or satire.

Whether we argue that it comes with the territory of moderating a known conspiracy website, and thus shouldn't be too alarmed by it after all; or that there could be truth to it... either way, moderators have to deal with it, and your reaction to it.

Truth is, not everyone comes here for the political theater, the ideological contention, or witty badinage. Those members aren't as sensitive to the joke, I suspect... only because they see it as an "other people's" concern. Most of them, I suspect, come here for specific area of interest... UFOs, cryptid information, supernatural phenomena, military technology, survival topics, and so many more I can't make a list and do them all justice. Those folks don't appear to spend much time pondering how things like outages and interruptions of functionalities might somehow serve someone else's agenda.

Nothing against your joke though.

Many member DO actually come here for the "show." Metaphorically yelling their most passionate beliefs, defending their sensitivities, opining far and long over the political or ideological things that really get them thinking. "Making a point" for those members can be more important that listening to the opposing view, or considering how to compromise intellectually. So we get "the show;" where passion and exuberance meets cynicism and apathy. It's where the memes come from.

Therein, I think, you'll find those who cling to close enough to the idea that ATS shares commonality with three-letter agencies, secret cabals, or loose affiliations of 'social engineering.' These folks will get a chuckle from your joke, I bet.

Truthfully, and with respect. I see no need to take offense at your joke. I can't imagine having to trash a thread you made, which distinguishes itself from the ones that do get trashed in a major regard.

Most of those threads that get trashed over such utterance include personal attacks against the owners, the staff, or the members themselves.

Moderators are human beings here... we can't see every offense, we can't possibly engage everyone. But we are trying to 'hold the ship true' and we are struggling. Platforms like this aren't rocket science... but neither is childbirth, and no one would call that "easy."

My opinion is we try to see threads in a very pure light, malevolent... benevolent...

I think your joke was benevolent in nature...

And for the record, no, we aren't the "bad guys." Period.
