I don't know how it is in your country but the ocean is really being depleted. One fish that cost one buck now cost 3 bucks. I do live in a fishing village here and it is really sad times now that winter is on the horizon.
Fuel prices are too high that the fisherman are teaming up to use the larger boats to go out to sea.

Chicken breast was $1.99 a pound a year ago and is $3.29 now.
Basically every commodity is way up so it's not a surprise fish is also.

I feed chicken thighs to my dog. The shelf is bare of them two or three days in a week now.

Are we pricing ourselves out of existence ?

Even if we get the 8.7& increase in Social Security in January, prices keep going up.

I'm thinking that is a supply chain issue..
I tried to buy canned beans sprouts yesterday and both grocery stores were out of them.. weird

It is safe to feed them with the bones in if they are NOT cooked. I have a friend that raises bulldogs and their diet is largely raw chicken and fish, with the bones. The vet approves.

I am living in an ocean fishing community in Britain. They do the lobster and crab pots and the net fishing. Out to sea the big factory ships can be seen on the horizon, digging up the bottom of the ocean, destroying as they take like the settlers hunted the buffalo to near extinction. It is a universal (note the word UNIVERSAL) human issue and is destroying the whole of Creation:

Do buffalos still exist? Today, some 20,000 bison in this country are free-roaming wildlife. For millennia, tens of millions of bison, also called buffalo, roamed the North American continent, critical to the Great Plains ecosystem and to the cultural and spiritual lives of Native Americans.

In ten years we might say that there used to be billions of fish, crabs, lobsters, whales, seals, but now there are just a few million and NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO EAT THEM BY LAW. That is where we must go if we continue this way much longer. here it is the same; prices going up like crazy with only more warnings of even worse to come in the future.

It's not the little guys. It's the big guys doing it. They are depleting the ocean then destroying the environment so new fish can't come to earth. It is the very worst kind of locust insanity and will reap a locust reward (plagues). The Almighty, through nature, has set up a punishment plan waiting to happen as forecast two thousand years ago. Revelations did warn us we would destroy much of the earth. It's a nightmare to have to see this. I don't want to do it. I try not to do it as I try to survive at the same time in a way negative bad ass system.

We are the last generation who will see any kind of abundance. I am in mourning for the human race already. So many are blind to this. They hide from this. They avoid this. They try not to think about this. By doing that they are the behaviour then that is doing this because they are uneducated about the problem and have not addressed the issue in their behaviour. The Passover Angel will know who they are. That is a metaphor for what is coded into cause and effect on this earth, and in the whole universe, as above so below.

The poor will just be poorer and even more desperate and the wealthy will be frightened for their very lives too and feel no true security, paranoid and in hiding. It's a bad deal for everyone. That is why the Almighty told us, rich and poor, to be careful about what we are doing. He warned the rich that there would be terrible consequences if they got greedy and oppressive. Read The Book of James in the Bible. Chapter 5 should turn the hairs white of any wealthy person:

5 Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. 2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. 4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.[a] 6 You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.

He is saying that eventually cause and effect catches up on us: that their own wealth and privilege will testify against them. They will get trashed by karma, by their own actions, by how they treated those who make them wealthy. I just wrote in a post that the oppressed becomes the oppressor.

All our problems are to do with GREED. All our problems are to do with VIOLENCE. All our problems are to do with our own behaviour. Sin is the old word for BAD BEHAVIOUR.

I fear we are in for a right clobbering with our own clubs, one and all, like they do to baby seals. I will do what James says next,

"Be patient in your suffering".

That's the best I can make of this terrible situation. I don't know why everyone sits there just thinking the price is going up. There is a much more worrying PRICE TAG happening.

I didn't know that. Always heard to never give your dogs bones that can splinter/fracture.

I cook his chicken though, so he's still not getting the bones.

I thought I read a story just late last week saying that the Snow Crab harvest in the seas around Alaska had been canceled because there seems to be no crab. I cant find the link at the moment but I thought there was a quote in the story saying to the effect that essentially a million crab just has seemed to vanish. Could there be an issue with Fish as well?

Also, as posted earlier the cost of chicken going up. I went grocery shopping last week for the first time in awhile as my wife has been doing it. I noticed that small whole chicken have went from basically around $8 to as high as almost $18 with a little variance due to size at the top ends but it has basically doubled. That could be attributed to bird flu but I would imagine the cost to run a fishing boat with Diesel etc has skyrocketed.

Watching all species of food sources being depleted on Planet Earth is frightening...it is because of all the pollution man has created on planet Earth.

I am south on the south west coast. I can't even afford to eat the fish my neighbours catch. It all goes to up market restaurants and wealthy people now. Only they can afford it. I have to buy factory farmed from the supermarket or tinned sardines. Factory farmed is more sustainable. it has its own problems though.

I will end my contribution on this thread with a wry joke that someone needs to invent replicators like in Star Trek. I am convinced we could get pretty close to that one day. We see the beginnings of it already with the fake meat and all. I know we like our quality food, but we have really screwed up, haven't we.

I see a bad moon risin'. I see trouble on the way. Oh shish!

We heard yesterday 1 billion crabs have disappeared from Alaskan waters.

Fleets went out,...no crab anywhere. They are clueless where they've gone.

And...2 days ago, 2 guys poached over 400 salmon....to take back to California to sell.

Lotza things are affecting food supply.

Over fishing is an environmental affront. The EU's Common Fisheries Policy created catastrophic harm to some fisheries. You would have thought that with the UK leaving the EU, the manic over-fishing would be stopped, but no. EU trawlers operate with impunity.

Worse are the Chinese fishing fleets that plunder every sea known to man, destroying livelihoods and nature as they go about it. The destruction and short-sightedness knows no bounds.

Maybe Putin stole them in retaliation for the Nord Stream pipeline bombings.
