Rose City ComiCon 2022

Just got back.

*phew*

Must have been about 40K people there. I'd say a good 25-35% were in costume. LARP'ing, as the kids say.

Only spent 600 bucks on stupid crap this time. Got to see Levar Burton, nice guy. Also a few authors. I am a book nerd.

No Firefly booth, I hate this timeline.

Very few Star Trek things, but I got my wife and I two "Official" Starfleet coffee cups.

All in all, a fun day, a time for us old farts to geek out openly.



I won't say how I was dressed, but I did wear pajama pants, had a full fake beard, and walked around with Mjölnir.

I'll be honest. My initial thought was this was going to be a piece about a democratic party convention.

LOL, got that one wrong, except for the pajama pants, I think they're a common theme.

How was the Fecal City? Did you buy some nice tarp paintings?

Glad you were able to visit the city unmolested and have a nice time, in the formerly best city I ever lived in, in the USA.

It's the look I was going for and I saw more cops there than I've seen anywhere in town lately.

That's cool.

I find most sci-fi folks are easy to talk with.

Eliza Wood bailed on us, apparently.

My biggest brush with geekery this weekend was a chuckle when I noticed that Alabama (#1) only won their game by a late field goal kicked by their kicker named ... Will Riker. So basically #2 saved #1, and I still find myself giggling over it all.
