So they should just have let them be defrauded? Maybe let them start a few more funds to do the same? I understand people can be dumb enough to turn over their hard earned money and get scammed, but doesn't mean it's right and it should be ignored.
According to the indictment, Bannon promised donors that all their money would go toward the wall, but concealed his role in diverting hundreds of thousands of dollars to the drive's chief executive, who had promised to take no salary.
Prosecutors said Kolfage told prospective donors he would "not take a penny" as he raised more than $25 million, yet took more than $350,000 and spent money on a boat, a luxury SUV, a golf cart, jewelry and cosmetic surgery, among other expenses.
"On the very day the mayor of this city has a delegation down on the border, they're persecuting people here (for trying to) stop them at the border," Bannon said outside Bragg's office, alluding to a recent trip by city officials to Texas. "This is all about 60 days," Bannon added, apparently referring to the November elections and imputing a political motive to the timing of the indictment.

If that is case, arrest every minister in the country because the money sent to them sure as hell was not used to get them in heaven.
Bannon, and others, caused WeBuildTheWall, Inc. to transfer hundreds of thousands of dollars to various third-party entities, including entities controlled by Bannon and others, which would then transfer a portion of the money received to Unindicted Co- Conspirator 1.
Bannon, and others, in furtherance of the conspiracy, agreed to use Unindicted Co-Conspirator Entity 1 to accept money from WeBuildTheWall, Inc., and to use a portion of that money to pay Unindicted Co-Conspirator 1. On or about January 11, 2019, Bannon was informed in a text message from Unindicted Co-Conspirator 2 that Unindicted Co- Conspirator 1 would be stating publicly that he would not be taking a penny from the donations. Bannon responded “[Unindicted Co-Conspirator Entity 1] can pay him.” On or about January 15, 2019, Bannon wrote in a text message to Unindicted Co-Conspirator 2 that there would be “[n]o deals I don’t approve; and I pay [Unindicted Co-Conspirator 1] so what’s to worry.” On or about January 18, Bannon wrote an email to Unindicted Co-Conspirator 2 clarifying that “You want $100k to [Unindicted Co-Conspirator 1.

I agree as well...and take away the tax exemption from churches. The pastors drive a Porsche and parishioners drive junkers.

I'm not shedding a single tear over this POS or his followers. But I doubt they think how Bannon lied to them and defrauded them is a "nothing burger".

Theres a couple things happening here.
Looks like guy that took the plea was raking in some cash and copped to it.
If there is proof that bannon took pay, that's pretty damning as hes said numerous times he wasnt.
Then theres the nature of a non profit. People who work can still take a salary.

This too will quickly become a nothing-burger
Tell that to Bannon's victims. Tell that to the MAGA folks that donated their hard earned money for a border wall that they believed in, so that Steve Bannon could eat lobster and caviar from a yacht in the Bahamas.

Here's some snippets from the indictment which I'll link to.

Bannon Indictment
And although there may be debate, Bannon did accept a pardon on federal charges. Might just be me, but I believe pardons are asked for and given when people are guilty of a crime.
