I think parts of London have been the same since those damn Romans parked up on the Thames and called their squat Londinium. I think thats when the Londoners started to get all staby!

Thats wrong.

UK knife law allows you to carry non-locking pocket knives with a blade length up to 3 inches (7.62 cm) without any need for a valid reason.

This is US. Michigan ...no current laws on length...a mention of 3 " circumstantial...but zero req. as to length.

Cities...can have their own laws.

UK you guys are really screwed...we carry fire-arms responsibly for the most part and by most of us....** Ok ok...hold on! There was a recent murder here by a woman w a crockpot...so there's that...

Armed Police tend to turn up to crimes that involve weapons of any sort these days.

Actually its not illegal to carry a knife in public if you have good reason for doing so but protection doesn't count.

My Mrs daft cousin got stabbed to death on Christmas day 2009 outside a house in Dalmarnock.

The other guy nicked his abdominal aorta and he died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

The point is if you get stabbed in the wrong place there is not much that can be done.

Yes, we do, old chap.

Also, mostly years go by without any of us being hosed down by some misfit who's got his murderous mitts on an AR.

As opposed to on an almost weekly basis around your parts?

Police these days don't prevent crimes per-say, they simply pick up the pieces afterward.

Its more local police that are required as opposed to just more Police.

Ones that know the area, the people who live there, and the lay of the land in general.

That way they have half a chance of detecting crime or having those who commit such reported to them.

There is simply a lack of trust where Police are concerned in this day of age and the fact of the matter is you catch more flies with honey rather than vinegar.
