BB-guns: Toys or tell me more?

I found these in the backyard.

Both vids are gas guns and shot in the cold, although he doesn't say if the paintball gun is Co2 or compressed air.

All things being equal, the paintball gun still puts out more power than the bb gun. I think he says in the BB gun video that it shoots 330fps with a bb which turns out to be around 1.3 ft.lbs.

Paintball guns can push those 3 gram paintballs at 300 fps for 9 ft. lbs., almost 7 times more power.

Saw this and thought that some in this thread might find it interesting.

I wanted to buy toy guns. But my wwife says no.

I must say though, these BB's get everywhere!

They're like Santa Clause on Christmas - literally everywhere.

Just so I noticed a scratch in our superior slimline ceramic water-closet.

Leave it, thought I, it will sort itself out.

Nope, a week later it was still there.

And I got my glasses and had a closer look.

That's a BB bullet!

Now how did that get into the toilet?

I have a few bb machine guns..can confirm, they get everywhere

Well, i gave in and made a modern butterfly slingshot. I fired one shot and put a hole through the missuses worm farm, it was a twelve mm ball bearing, lucky we didn't have those as kids or we would all still have been inside.

Actually, I ran into some BB gun problems this week.

Well, shooting at the empty wine cardboard box, and suddenly the trigger is stuck.

The magazine won't eject, and next thing the steel top comes loose.

Don't do anything yourself the manual says, or there goes your warranty.

So I take it back to, I'll call him "M" (probably by my guess Pakistani or Bangladeshi, which is just descriptive, since so were the people who ultimately helped me - but noticeably in this industry in SA).

Anyway, he accuses me of dropping the gun, and there's entire parts missing.
He can't fix it (since I allegedly lost the parts) or replace it (I must have dropped it).
I buggered-up the gun, but he will sell me another one at a R300 discount!

But I know I did nothing to the gun.

Thanks to mom, I know there's another shop deeper in the mall that sells these things.

Next thing BAM - almost shot me in the stomach!

It was just jammed, and a BB in the wrong place!

I also learned about non-lethal guns that can actually break a rib, and could be used for self-defense (way more expensive however).

As for M - you basically called me a liar, and I'll never support you again!

That was on Tuesday, but the gun's in perfect condition, and still shooting fine.
I'm getting mighty suspicious of the free BBs M gives with his gun-sales.
They look a bit smaller than the real BBs I bought at the other store.

Actually very likely, the BB gun was just an intro to "non-lethal" self-defense weaponry (I mean projectiles, you can hardly call swords or knives "non-lethal").

Well, the second shop sent me a whole e-mail catalogue, so saving up for the next item.

Gonna use single-use into double use.

Here come my bros, working out in the park.

Home in the shower, and my mom's like in German: "Hast du den Seehund erdrossen"?

Through the the wood and water, what?

"Du hast durch die Glastuer im Flur geschossen".

I accidentally shot through the glass panel next to the front door.
And it's that wobbly glass they last made in 1978.
How will I replace it?

Wait till your dad gets home.

I show him everything, and he's like smiling: "So this thing ain't just a gimmick after all. A perfectly round hole".

"Go speak to your mom about the cost and whatever.
Just next time, shoot away from the house".
