Lack of compassion is bad for society.

There needs to be an investigation that goes a little deeper than 'guns kill people', in my opinion.

Lack of compassion generally equates to sociopathic or psychopathic behaviors Itisnowagain.

Humanity's ability to empathize aka show compassion being rather an important part of the human condition.

Which these whack jobs seem to be missing.

What's making them? My bet is mental illness but the AR-15 they have in their hands certainly enables them to commit the mass murder that they perpetrate.

I don't know what "mental illness" is.

Shooting up schools and hospitals, killing kids and innocents, at the drop of a hat ticks the mental illness box.

Most of the above mental maladies could probably be considered a good reason to restrict ownership where the likes of AR-15 are concerned imho. Some of the most definitely.

It's absolutely true.

if it wasn't for the 2nd amendment, 50% of Americans would have been rounded up and put in concentration camps by now. The rest of them would be forced to have a Covid jab every 4 weeks and wear a mask all day every day.

Seriously, I can think of absolutely nothing at all that has been prevented by the 2nd amendment. All it means is that Americans have much less freedom than the western world does - where we don't need armed guards outside junior schools, or fear for our lives when a delivery driver calls at the wrong house.

Well I listed about ten, but then deleted it because I didn't want to wade into the discussion. But I will say that shooting up schools doesn't tick any box but needing to be gone. I don't buy the labeling the mentally ill thing especially when people are just using a catch all to describe "crank screw." I listed depression and asperger's. You are really telling me you are normal enough to not have had anything of the sort? I don't use it as a baseline and think it is a label and a cop out. We all know what a wack job is.

Just about anything and every situation can have an effect on a person's mental state.

Running from traumatic experiences, stressful life situations, bereavements, medical conditions, and even brain damage down to injury or drug use.

How long is a piece of string?

Tell me this through, what enables the screwballs, and are readily available in the US, that decide to commit mass murder?

Could it be the likes of the AR-15 and guns per chance?

This is not an AR-15. It is a revolver. Less than 10 rounds (6 round restrictions in some places) and is what they claim they want as a limit of how advanced of a gun you can own. Jerry is well practiced and scary fast. You might not get that fast. But you can get pretty fast. The Uvalde shooter with his AR-15 only fired 164 rounds total that near hour and a half. Nowhere near Jerry’s six rounds a second speed. Would you feel safe around Jerry?
