The TRAUMAS that have been occurring within American Society have been of various intensity and saturation within our population. Some Americans are affected more than others, but the overall bombardment is taking its toll. It's similar to the Traumatic Distress soldiers experience during war.

Here is some of what the entire country has been exposed to since 2016.

1.) The U.S. President being framed as a Russian agent by Democrats and 90% of the news media for 3 years.

2.) United States commerce being shut-down and behaviors of Americans forced-changed by government, over a virus that was not serious, for the vast majority of Americans who contracted it.

3.) A former U.S. Vice-President bragging he would cheat to win the White House in Nov 2020, and carrying through on that threat successfully.

4.) The man who cheated his way into the White House confirms he is intentionally increasing consumer prices on everything from Fuel to Food...saying "It's Good for Us".

5.) The Pharmaceutical companies are now admitting that their Covid-19 vaccines cause a myriad of health problems, due to the vaccines being rushed to production, with minimal quality control. They also bypass the FDA to "tweak" the formulas, without first testing the tweaked formula, before sending them out for public consumption. Due to the Covid-19 vaccine, millions of Americans are living with a bomb inside them that could activate at any time, or never at all.

6.) Plus, a host of Regional or Smaller-Scale TRAUMAS are "wearing" on U.S. citizens, like Drug Abuse, Migrant-induced troubles, Mass Shootings, Inner-City Crime, etc..

IN YOUR OPINION, will Americans;

1.) Continue to endure these Traumatic Stress events quietly, in the hopes they will end on their own, or because we get new leadership in Washington, D.C..?

2.) Mentally crack and turn to mass violence.

3.) March on Washington to Demand Changes.

4.) Go with the Flow... adapting as necessary.

5.) ________________________(Choose something else)

Could be or this could give us the illusion things are better because it's beaten us down so much mentally.

I'll say this we have had more legit topics the last 2-3 years here on ATS than we did the previous 10, and the previous 10 had some serious chit go down.

Who knows I have no doubt we are missing some serious topics because one is getting piled on another. Im opening up to the idea some of this is from foreign countries deeking around, and we don't have a government savvy enough to catch them or a segment is in cahoots

You forgot the 'peaceful protests' from BLM, the riots over George Floyed, and any riot because of cop killing a criminal.
You forgot the criminals being released from prison in 2020 because of 'covid'.
You forget the parents being labelled and treated as 'domestic terrorists' because they dare speak up against porno/sex 'education' in schools and the grooming of kids into transgenders.

I'm not convinced Joe understands the phrases that he says.

For the rest of the post, I think americans will persevere until midterms. Republicans will take congress, things will get noticeably better. The media will praise the Dems despite "opposition" to the improvements from the (R)s. And sadly a large percentage of the country will believe it.

You forgot defunding the police

Highly organized and funded riots, encouraged by liberal politicians who also set up a foundation to post their bail and pay for lawyers- on the few who didn't have charges dropped

The continual push to divide people by race an ethnicity

HR 350 to weaponize DOJ, FBI, DHS to monitor domestic terrorists, including White Supremacists, labeling them Domestic Terrorists- which covers every one whose views don't align with the far left wokeness agenda

Importing people from countries who hate America, and a country ruled by corrupt terrorists

Allowing millions from the southern border- no vetting, no PCR tests and no vaccine

Pushing abortion to the war front

Using LGBTQIX folk to drive agenda

Pushing the middle class into poverty with give billions to other nations

Creating the housing crisis with soaring rent adding to the homeless population, while removing the homeless from their temporary housing to replace them with illegal immigrants

But it isn't happening in just America; most nation seem to be enacting policies from one 'game play' book. Even if conservatives become the majority, the liberal media would trash everything they do. It's going to take decades to undo the damage that's been done to our country, and with the depth of corruption at all the highest levels of government it's going to be a monumental task.

In my opinion, Russia and China are doing to the US what the US did to the USSR in the 80's, and it's working.

#5 - America is no longer united and the republic dissolves into 4-5 separate entities. A western country, an eastern country, 2 southern countries, and a large central country.

Americans have poor long-term memories. That can be good or bad.

Good for Joe Biden/Democrats, when he lowers the price of gasoline by 50 cents a gallon, just before election day in November. People will thank their lucky stars, because they won't remember that gas was $1.89 @ gallon when Biden stole the office.

Bad for those who want Americans to remember the hell Democrats put America/Americans through in 2020, by shutting down most of the country. Doing so triggered suicides, and bred angry mass shooters.

I'm guessing nr 3 will be spinned into nr 2, although I'm guessing most people have lost their appetite for a protest at the capital due to the insane reframing of the events transpiring on Jan 6 and the way protestors were treated.

It won't be due to fundamental rights being stripped away either, apparently people are learning to live with that.

It will be because of cost of living increases, which according to Biden is a good thing.

I'm thinking Nr 5 won't happen until after 3 and 2 occurs.

That's when an unelected body will send an international peace keeping force into your territories, to teach you how to be 'civil' again.

IF substantive reforms do not follow from the latest act of mass gun violence, a "grassroots" backlash against local and national political leaders can be expected. With the 2022 elections still to be decided, such a backlash, peaking just as voters head to the polls, could prove to be very problematic for those candidates who continue to hew to the "thoughts and prayers" party line.

IF Ukraine is successful in its war against its Russian invaders, OR if Russia, sensing imminent defeat or interminable stalemate (risking unrest at home due to economic pressures), does something egregious, such as detonating a nuclear weapon over Ukrainian territory (Russia is said to be clearing the population from parts of east Ukraine, conveniently), it can be expected that the US population (with the possible exception of those that actually support Putin’s authoritarianism) will "rally around the flag" and the current administration in a demonstration of "American Patriotism".

Either scenario is, at this juncture, quite possible.

As to the likelihood of the society cracking under the strain of a "resetting" economy, since the economic pressures causing the tension are, in fact, not limited to just the US but affect the entirety of the global economy, it might be educational to regard the fact that the world, and the US especially, survived the Great Depression.

And not only are economic indicators far better now than then (for a small example, the state of California just reported a budget surplus of $97Billion, an amount equal to more than 48 other states, Combined), the federal government has at least a few more "tricks up its sleeve", it has yet to deploy.

I deal with the public. From what I’m hearing people are angry about sending their tax dollars to Ukraine, baby formula being sent to the border but none available for American babies.

The cost of living and gas prices are skyrocketing. I now know two families that have to shower in cold water due to affordability. Both families have multiple good jobs!

I do know people who are very well off and even they are feeling it. The financial squeeze that is!

I predict big voter turnout. People are tired of drowning in debt financially and just wait til the trucks stop rolling in line they use to!

People are angry!

As far as this garbage lgbt/lmnop garbage being taught/forced in elementary schools, people don’t want it, and are sick of it!

If things don’t improve, I predict crime increase which will include people of congress/senate becoming victims of said crimes.

I hear lots of talk of people no longer eating out, buying lunch at lunch break because gas is so high! Didn’t we just go through trying to save small businesses after the Covid lockdowns? Yet we are sending money to a war zone that we aren’t even suppose to be involved in because it puts this country at risk of becoming involved in said war.

Did this country really just seize an Iranian oil tanker to take the oil?

Bad times ahead

I can't speak for anyone else than myself, at this time. Personally, I'm at Number 1 with a little 5 and am not proud of it. I hope things will change and continue to endure what's happening but a part of me is breaking in a nonviolent way. I simply want to be left alone and am strongly considering not paying attention to the news anymore.

This causes psychological stress as cognitive dissonance grows within me. I strive for a better world, yet I can't fight this fight and take care of my family (or so I feel). Many will call me weak, especially on this site, but I'm overextended. The fight for housing and food has surpassed anything we've experienced before. In historical times, when we spent most of our time struggling for these two goals, our actions had a direct impact on the results. Now, we work in jobs unrelated to survival and can't obtain these essentials very well. What will I do when our way of life is officially broken, I don't know. It all depends how good the Soma is, I suppose.

Indeed, I'm breaking and it's unfortunate. I love capitalism but this crony version of it is utterly destroying our lives as we know it. It breaks my heart.

Submission. To many are content sitting behind keyboards or in front of the phone cameras calling for change and action… people are happy to bitch, but when it comes time to make changes they’re happy with the status quo which is why we see the same do nothing politicians get elected over and over again on both sides of the aisle.
