If you look at the actually statistics that's not true. Regardless of which criteria is used to define a mass shooting (4 victims dead vs 4 victims dead or wounded) you'll find that mass shootings occur at a similar rate every year with an upward trend from previous years.

Where are you getting that info? From what I'm reading, he legally purchased one of the firearms on May 17th, the day after his 18th birthday. On May 18th he returned and purchased 375 rounds of ammunition. Then on May 20th, four days before the shooting, he purchased another rifle that was also found present at the scene.

I posted early in the thread that a report I heard said he got the gun from a relative.
As with most very early reporting on events such as this...it was inaccurate.

Sounds like the grandma survived and is expected to recover.
As the shooter resided at her residence, the information from her will be interesting.

The first reported disturbance was domestic at that residence.

Odd that a border patrol agent broke down the door and killed the shooter.

I was watching Fox News late last night, I think the anchor was Shannon Breem that was on.
She had a guy on who I think it said he was an ex FBI agent.
They’re were talking back and forth about this and at one point he started talking about how he was curious about a possible police chase that ended with this suspect crashing his truck in front of the school and running in.
As soon as he mentioned this, Breem pretty much cut him off and ended the interview.
I thought that was very strange for her to do that, it just had a weird vibe to it when it happened.
Did anyone else see it?

Uvalde has a Border Control station.

The city is 70 miles from the border. I see them driving around here often. I'm 50 miles from a border crossing. Unless they swim across the lake from Canada, which I've never heard of happening.

Apparently, an "elite" Border Control team worked in tandem with local PD to flank the shooter inside the school.

I haven’t really been glued to the TV but isn’t the lack of info coming out about this kind of strange.
No press conferences by the authorities about this, that I have seen.
They seem pretty tight lipped.
