Did you find any destroyed residential areas in iraq after Desert Storm?

Shopping malls?

Schools?

Hospitals?

Even a single one?

Not go look at aerial videos of current day Marioupol and Popasna, there is NO comparison.

One set shows precision weapons that occasionally damage a nearby civilian building while striking large military targets (with 30 year old weapons), the other set shows completely flattened cities without a single undamaged building (using what russia considers 'modern' weapons), and MOST of the damage in civilian areas.

Your claim is beyond absurd.

What I took away from Glaspie's narrative is that Saddam was set up, sucker-punched.

Why on earth we had a female as ambassador in a male centric society never seemed logical to me, but that's beside the point.

Saddam summoned the US ambassador and asked her to find out what the US would think if he invaded Kuwait regarding the matter of Kuwait slant-drilling into Iraqi fields. She went to Washington to get the answer, and eventually delivered to Saddam the answer from her superiors: Any such invasion by Iraq would be seem as a matter of "inter arab affairs". A very neutral response.

Why didn't Washington tell him "An invasion would be illegal and aggressive, and would be punished" ?

They wanted him to invade, was the subliminal message from Glaspie.

Incorrect.

Nobody mentioned anything about invading Kuwait or Saudi, iraq was asking what the U.S. response would be if iraq used it's military to resolve a long running near border oil well issue.

On iraq's territory.

Our response was that it's none of our business.
