When it comes to the gas and oil supplies it appears that the sanctions are starting to show its opposite affect.

On Europe.

Europe faces recession if Putin fully shuts off the gas taps

Berenberg Chief Economist Holger Schmieding and Senior Economist Kallum Pickering said a sudden stop to gas supplies to Europe would push Europe into a recession.

This what happens when Europe/Germany keeps listening to the US/UK.
The more sanctions the more likely that Europe plunges into an recession.

Not even an LNG alternative would be enough to replace the 40% of the Russian oil/gas supplies.

An embargo on Russian oil would trigger a recession in Europe and investors are underpricing disruptions to energy supplies, Barclays says

But an an oil embargo is exactly what UK/US wants Europe to push for.
Germany had already called for a embargo a month ago.

The recession looks like its unavoidable.

Freedom has its costs.

It's still better than a murderous dictator being allowed to invade sovereign Countries.

You mean EU embargo on Russian oil, this is not Putin that turn off the pipe, EU does.
There will be economic consequences for everyone, but it is necessary as @MiddleInsite said

This is all such a sh!t show. I have no sympathies for one of both sides, the WEF-ukrainian or the WEF-russian "side". But it is fact that the russians still deliver but the ukrainians since a while throttle the gas flow to europe by one third without any reasonble need for it(except maybe blackmailing europe) "because of the war" so europe gets less gas right now and since a while because of WEF-Selesnkyi and not because of WEF-Putin.

The WEF puppets reptesenting the West will not stop until they get the desired outcome no matter the cost to their citizens who they supposedly represent. Even if it kills us.

It's not like Trump didn't already tell EU leaders...to their face...that this would happen if they became too reliant on Russian oil and gas.

They laughed.

Been in an actual recession covered up since 2008 by printing dosh head over heels (some would say since Maggie time) VNex and the whoe system is a scam. Now the egg laid is hatching massive and i mean massive inflation here right now, everything going up including baked beans and bread too something that never gets a mention with all this gas oil stuff going on.

Then you get Brexit................. Putin caused this partly and encouraged voters to vote out of the EU through propagands. The whole fiasco is crushing a nation the red tape is insane if you want to deal with the continent a total friggin nigtmare

Throw in the special operation in Ukraine and now we gonna get the big gas hikes to add the fuel to the fire.

Our gov't btw are total free traders and if that means seling UK business out of business then that's fine with Westminster

Crazy times ahead but our economy has been pretty plastic fake legless dealing in 'money' all the time the real industrys were sold out to the foreigners and that sent Brits into a couldn't give a monkeys about looking afetr ourselves. Everyone here aspires to Kraut mobiles on their drives and foreign clothes and electronics and it's all going tits up as we speak with inflation like you haven't seen in your life for many young nippers

A murderous dictator? It sounds like you watch only the mainstream media.

It could very well be that Putin will save the world by the actions in Ukraine. If the Banderites and Kazarian Mafia in Ukraine are once and for all destroyed, he will have done a good thing for civilized society.

Well look atit from the bright side , if we Europeans are starving in the streets and taking the long sleep from freezing to death our countries would be a easy grab for the Russians.

Russia doesn't want Europe, and it doesn't want Sweden, Finland or Western Ukraine. It merely wants to eliminate NATO in its backyard. All Russia wants is to peacefully coexist in this world.

Let's still figure it out, is Russia turning off Europe's gas or is Europe refusing Russian gas?

As far as I understand, the initiator in this case is Europe.

there some of that backwards logic that russians are famous for.

if putin hadn't sent troops into Ukraine, then he'd still be selling gas and oil to Europe and other places in the world.
now his country will soon be so poorer than it all ready was and he won't be able to rebuild his junk fleet of tanks armoured vehicles, aircraft, and ships.

If Europe had not supported the Ukrainian anti-constitutional coup in 2014, it would not have had to give up Russian gas.

Do you like this logic?

People really have a memory problem - especially when it comes to retention - at least those that sway to the beat of the MSM

again more backwards logic

if the russian puppet president and other government members that fled to russia at the time of the so called coupe had followed constitution russia could be still selling oil and gas.

My post was a bit sarcastic , i don't believe all russians are bad.

But the Invasion only made more regional players sign up for NATO.

By trying to solve a problem they only created a bigger one.

The invasion will not make Russia more safer from NATO on the long term , With EU members who have neglected their military now doing a 180 and are committed to invest in military spending.

It's better in the long run that countries are not depended on other countries for any resources.
