He is a liability....but there's always been a bit of a risk about him.
For some bizarre reason some voters found his oafishness endearing and appealing.

There's a very good chance many of those 'red wall' seats the Tories gained at the last election will not vote for any Conservative candidate again for a long time.

Not wanting to go over old news but I remember 1982 vividly.
Thatcher was on her way out one way or another, either the Tories were going to ditch her or the country was going to kick her out of Downing Street.
Then Argentina foolishly invaded The Falklands and Thatcher turned it into a matter of national pride etc.
She went on to win a landslide victory in the '83 General Election.

Now I'm not saying that was manufactured, but I'm certain they've learnt from it.

Would you be that surprised if something arose that pushed this story off the front pages, Boris then weathers the storm and then some situation or event crops up that brings about his political revival?

I hope so mate.

How anyone can believe that lame story about him not reading the email and not knowing it was drinks etc is beyond me.
Just more lying.

And even if true, what shocking lack of leadership that he didn't put a stop to the gathering....how can he be entrusted to 'lead' the country?

I just wonder which twat will replace him....as far as I can tell there's not a decent one among them.

So, her Mag the Queen sat alone, socially distancing at the funeral of her husband of 70 odd years. And this twerp partied at Clowning Street?

Compare and contrast.

He's got to go.

It's not really distracting anyone here. His days are numbered.

It appears a major story here.
Thanks for the perspective.

Yeah, so is Prince Andrew. But Boris ain't out of the woods.

Thing is, he told the House that he was not aware of any other Clowning St parties. But he was, cos he was at one.

Misleading the House is a breach of the Ministerial Code which is A Bad Thing.

Still all over the news here and it's not going away.

Yeah, course it was. Invite 100 people to bring a bottle.

If Boris has to have an inquiry as to if it was a party, must have been a good one!

So; Andrew stripped of HRH and military titles.
Revelations about a Chinese CP 'agent' who has been active in Westminster since at least 2015.
Covid isolation reduced to 5 days.

No mention of Boris and his woes until page 10 in my newspaper.
And there is a marked change in tone; no longer demanding his resignation but that he should conduct a clearout of Downing Street staff and that he needs to change the 'boozy culture' in Downing Street.

In addition to his obvious unsuitability for such a lofty position, his arrogant and egotistical belief that he is above the law(s) that he seeks to impose on everyone else, his rotten, amoral and corrupt administration it now seems that like all bad managers he is seeking to blame his underlings and staff for his own personal failings and his complete inability to manage.

I think its more or less a foregone conclusion that the Sue Gray investigation will conclude that everyone but Boris is to blame for for these party's.
Some ten-a-penny staffers and maybe a middle ranking Civil Servant or two will be the fall guys.
Boris will get a slight rap on the knuckles but will survive to fight another day.
US McCarthy like paranoia about 'Reds under the beds' will take over the front pages and nullify any threat Labour may pose to The Tories.
The Andrew saga - the man is a dead duck - will run and run and provide a convenient distraction for Boris until some out of court settlement is agreed....at which point something else will crop up to deflect away from Boris's abject failings both as a leader and as a human being.

So predictable.

Word is Sunak and Liz Truss are campaigning.

Must admit, I quite like Truss.

It didn't surprise me one little bit.
The only real surprise is that they didn't find anything sooner.

Got to wonder what Wee Jimmy has been up to north of the border?

Not a massive fan of Truss's politics....but at least she seems a bit of a steely streak about her.
She seems to have a bit of 'leadership' quality about her.

Sunak just seems like a sleaze ball.
Yet another self-aggrandising career politician - that's the last thing this country needs at present.
