Never understood the hate flat earthers receive,
Well, I can kind of understand it at least half way. On the other hand, what does it matter what idiots believe, there are SO many SO stupid people in
this world, it boggles the mind, when you realize how hopeless the situation is. I guess part of the anger stems from people not wanting to accept
that so many people are blithering idiots at best.
The other part of the anger probably comes from the fact that it's generally recognized just how mind-blowingly narrow-minded, dogmatic and against
truth flat-earthers have always been throughout the history, and that no one in their right mind that has the intelligence capacity of a three
year-old or higher, can seriously question the fact that planets are more or less round, for the most part (there are irregularly-shaped or more oval
planets, but that doesn't even matter).
I mean, it wouldn't make sense that just Earth is flat, why would other planets be round - shouldn't every single planet in existence be flat, too? If
another planet can be round, why can't Earth?
The biggest part, I think, is that it's SO EASY and quick to prove that Earth is round, not flat, and it's SO PRIMITIVE a belief to even have that the
planet is flat, only because it's so big you can't always immediately see the curvature; it's such childish, toddler-like 'thinking'; what you see is
what you get.
Yet, we see things that are not what they seem all the time. Is the sky REALLY blue? Are the stars REALLY at those points we see them at? I mean, we
don't even see the stars in real time, there could be years, centuries of thousands of years between what we see and what actually is.
We can't see atoms, molecules or particles, and yet we know they must be there. We don't see viruses or bacteria, we don't hear ultrasound or
infrasound, but we know it's there, and we can measure its effects.
So it's irritating and frustrating that for this ONE thing, suddenly what you see is 100% fact and true, and for all the other things, it's accepted
that you don't exactly see reality as-is.
There are so many reasons why one might get angry or frustrated about someone being SO stupid that they can't do a simple experiment or think for five
seconds to come to the realization that Earth couldn't be flat, or SO stubborn that they refuse to do it.
There are also obvious liars, who don't REALLY believe Earth is flat, but who have an agenda, so they lie that they believe it; you can see it in
their eyes, body language and hear it in their voice when they talk about it.
There are plenty of reasons why to get angry at someone who just refuses to accept facts that are easy and simple to research AND even figure out by
thinking for a few seconds. I don't understand why someone couldn't understand it.
It's like an adult mathematician that claims two plus two is five, and refuses to accept evidence to the contrary, or a writer that can't type
'couldn't care less' correctly, or choose correctly between 'there', 'their' and 'they're'.
An adult should be able to do all of these things, so when someone is stupid enough to not be able to do these incredibly simple tasks or realize
obvious facts, it can be frustrating to others, who are supposed to treat these oatmeal-brains as equal adults.
