Ill add: your fatal flaw here is in trying to assign intent, which you can in no way reasonably know. Despite your apparent belief to the contrary.
Intent is admittedly implied by her incredible intelligence and background on the issue.
Would not make the same claim about many others.
But good enough for me in this unique case.
Perfect. You have an opinion.
Should I claim you, too, are an expert because of your obvious incredible intellect, like Sotomayor? Your opinion now transcencds opinion because you are just so damned smart you know more than you were ever educated in?
LOL

Yes, a fetus do not have consciousness until is born, if we did we would remember when we were in the uterus, so the justice is right.
Interestingly the bible in genesis talks about it.
Since God intends for that human in the womb to have a soul, it's best to leave it alone and let the assigned soul take possession, or you'll mess up the plans.

... She isn't completely wrong.
What she's is saying is that a fetus reacts automatically based on instinct baked into it at a biological level, and that it hasn't yet reached a level where it is aware of itself as an independent entity
A person who is brain dead is coming at this from the other side. They react automatically to stimulus like heat or cold but that they aren't aware of what they are experiencing at a conscious level because the part of them which would do this is too badly damaged.
Its like... A computer that boots into the bios before you've installed the OS.
Not my argument, but it is hers. I'm just explaining it.
Personally, I'd look at increasing condom use, and getting people to keep it in their pants. Failing that, use the rear entrance. Or get Netflix

Think you need to reread my post.. was talking about ACB, not AOC...
Amy Comey Barret or whatever her name is spelled.
Contrary to what so many in the prolife camp want us to believe, pregnancy is not a,walk in the park... I do expect someone sitting on the supreme court to be sensitive to that fact!

I believe the description is apt. Neither is self-aware or viable on their own.
This does not mean I condone abortion.

Maybe someone else has asked this, but…
Do you clearly remember any events in your life during your first year after being born?
If not, would you assume that you were brain dead for that first year of life? That you were not conscious?
Then follows the question: Would it be acceptable to kill babies under the age of one year if the parents no longer wanted them?
I am just playing devils advocate.

This little guy was a prime abortion prospect.
My God...look at how beautiful he is: www.wvtm13.com...
Would love to see him at age 5...running about...filled with curiosity and excitement about the world around him.

That pill does not exist...
And, even if it did and no women ever had an unintended pregnancy...
ABORTIONS WOULD STILL BE NEEDED!

Wow, thank you for that!
Yes, Clergy and even md’s know that the life starts at conception, though there is something about the “quickening” which is in a later part of development.

I am pro choice and i base my believes in life on actually religion, the soul enters the body at birth to become a full human.
And that is my opinion a fetus do not have consciousness until is born.

I don't know, why dont you think about it awhile....
maybe go back and read my previous posts....
Is she saying a Human Fetus IS a Brain-Dead Person? It sounds like a stretch to me, but I'm not medically trained. Is Justice Sotomayor?
