So, the past week I've been sick. More nose glue than you can post friends letters with, a sore throat, and a cough that wakes the neighbours up with.

At first I was concerned.. I've not had a cold or the flu in over a decade. Yet I had to go to hospital for x-rays and blood tests and 5 days later I'm wondering if I'd caught the dreaded coof.. So I did the right thing, hand sanitizer every time I moved, and limited myself to the bedroom.. which truthfully, was the only place I wanted to be.

A week now, I'm still blowing goober bubbles out of my nose, and my chest is intolerant to breathing, but no fever, no aches, nothing more than what I remember a bad cold to be.

How did I catch a cold with such an extreme environment of people being super repressed? It's unfathomable. I mean, it is a coronavirus.. Shouldn't all those safe people have protected me? Masked up, diligently staying distant, etc??

I wonder how many people have just a common cold and are diagnosed as having the dastardly coof..

Numbers make money, I guess... But I know this, if this is just how they were, pussies....

end of rant, wasn't really a rant, just wanted to vent.. and there is no vent forum...

Yep, colds are no fun.

My experience is they usually take 10 days until significant improvement is apparent.

Best of health to you.

Cheers

celery
garlic
onion
salt
pepper
chicken cubes ( dried condensed chicken flavor )

serve with macaroni or french bread with butter

You wanna loosen all that junk in your lungs and nose?

It's time for the super hot super fun volcanic shower. Get in there with the water hot wait a few minutes make it hotter.

Continue until the steam is thick sit down and take it all in within 20 minutes your nose will be completely drained.

At this point you can breathe in and out hard a few times to get the phlegm loosened and cough hack it out.

Good luck to ya hope this helps.

I caught a cold a couple of weeks ago. Started with a sore throat, stuffy nose, and fatigue. Luckily I had just stocked up on all the vitamins people have been recommending for covid.
I took double dose of vitamins C, D, and zinc.
Drank tons of water and rested and felt better in 2 days, and was right as rain in 4 days. Normally when I get sick it's a 7 - 10 day process. That's the first time I tried vitamins when sick. Going to add oil of oregano next time as it hear it works wonders too.
Hope you feel better soon.
Masks are a false sense of security.

I take oil of oregano whenever I start to experience cold or flu symptoms. My illness is always short lived, and often gone in a day or two. My wife waits until she is really sick before she accepts oil of oregano, but her symptoms are gone a couple of days after as well. It may also be why I experienced relatively mild covid symptoms. The first time we had it, it was gone overnight for me. She didn't take the oil of oregano for a week and had horrible symptoms, but they were gone a couple of days after she started taking some.

I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but there is research that supports it's effectiveness against the flu.

Hope you fell better soon.

So much good advice in this thread.. Thank you all !!

I've been drinking lemon and honey like it's going out of style, taking NAC - another god friend recommended it to me, and also milk thistle.. On top of everything else.

It's good to know so many good people.. You are heart felt, and I send my best wishes to you all..

With people in the world such as this, we will never be alone..

And for a really fun, gross time? (but guarantee to clean your sinuses)
Bring a pot of water to a boil. Shut it off.
Drop in 2-3 drops of Oregano oil.

Breath deep.

You really want a whole box of tissue, or a roll of paper towel in your hand when you do this.
I had no idea that much gross could fit in my sinuses.
But I could breath again.

Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup
McIlhenny Tabasco Sauce (or if you are hard core - little can of diced Jalapeno)
Box of Kleenex.
Saltines if you want.

Shake enough hot sauce into your bowl of soup that your nose starts running freely after about the second spoonful.

I'm way ahead of you. I used to have a continuous sinus infection for more than a decade. I squirted a dropper full of undiluted oil of oregano into each nostril and tilted my head back a little. I could feel it seeping into the deepest reaches of my sinuses. There was a couple of days of constant nose blowing and then my sinuses were clearer than they had been in many years. That was 7 years ago and I haven't had a sinus infection since.

Although, I don't recommend doing that to anyone who can't take some intense burning pain.

Edit: I said undiluted, but the brand I use is oil of oregano cut with olive oil. I meant undiluted from the bottle.

Check into Olive Leaf.
I like it better than Oregano oil, which can cause stomach issues for me anyway.

I had one that miserable once and the only thing that worked for any relief was to use a netipot and shoot warm saline up my nose and into sinuses.

The process doesn't hurt; it's just really funky, but it will open you up. Works best after the volcano shower.

THATis medicinal.. I eat Jalapenos like peanuts.. handful at a time. Problem is, it hurts more coming out than going down
