Sorry to hear that. Jellyfish can be rough! whew....
One February night 200 miles Nor’east of Cape Cod, it was blowing real hard, 60-70 knots, seas, 25-30 feet, I had a sea take me right off the starboard side.
From the glare of the overheads on the wave froth I could see the whole bottom of the boat as it rolled away from me. I could see the rolling shocks and the keel coolers.
I could also hear the wheel off to my left, wump, wump, wump.
A second later, here it comes racing back by me, the rail dips under and SLAM, I bodysurfed back on deck.
We left the drags on deck and laid too for 18 hours.
This trip would be a whole story in itself, take hours to write it well.
Maybe one day soon.....

Cheers again!...

Yes the ladies but what do the men say.

I heard rumors that crab fishing is one of the jobs with the highest accident rates on earth?
I have mad respect for your job, although my paladar isn't too fond of sea food, my body thrives better on seafood than any other animal product.
Looking forward to your contributions.

Welcome to the asylum fisherman's friend, if it's too strong you are too weak.

Hello Terpene.

“Yes the ladies but what do the men have to say.”
Strictly speaking this is a non-question the way it’s asked, if it’s actually asked at all.
Well, I guess, how the “men” cross the rail coming aboard, if they’d cross a rail at all may answer that.

Rumors are strange things. “Crab“ fishing is listed, as all offshore commercial fishing is listed, at least insurance wise, the most deadly of occupations. In my opinion, there is no earthly reason why I am here today to play mental gymnastics with you Terpene.
The most dangerous work was once coal mining going by the numbers and losses.
Having mad respect for fisherman requires some
knowledge or at least wonder of the industry.
I assure you, it’s very, very dangerous. For that I thank you!
Here’s a fun fact.
Less than one percent of “men“ who try their hand in the fishing industry, (ie, the deck) succeed beyond a single trip, many, not even that.
Now, to attain the engine room or wheel house aboard a fishing vessel takes an especially tough, and very intelligent breed of “men”.
As far as my “taste buds” go. I’m rather burnt on seafood, yet I do still love it. Swine is actually my favorite type of protein.
Commercial fishing is extremely taxing physically. Unless one attempts to do the types of physical labor required in certain parts of the industry, one can not begin to imagine just how man-crushing the work can actually be!
The work not only requires huge protein intake but vast amounts of carbohydrates as well. In some parts of the fishing industry it is not at all uncommon, it is necessary even, for “men” to consume 12-15,000 calories or more on a daily basis.
I am so looking forward to not only contributing to but also engaging in the, as I stated earlier, the mental gymnastics of which I sense are performed here on a daily basis.
I believe I’ll do just fine in the asylum, thank you.
Please, let me ask you, not a non-question, but an actual question.
Do you sense any sort of weakness, in me(?).? 😎

Thank You for taking the time, energy and thought put into welcoming me!
Challenge excepted.
Cheers.......

Interesting question. I was not thinking of your weakness in my post.

"If its too strong you are too weak" is a comercial slogan these guys had back in the days where I watched TV, these slogans seem to stick...

I guess we all have our weaknesses, would you like to hide them and only show your strengt?

If so, I'd consider that to be your only weakness, the rest might as well be considered particularities, that add up to your strength and form your uniqueness.
