Hospitals laid off large chunks of staff. They never recovered their staffing after that, and now everyone needs the hospital. It isn't COVID that is causing these problems. It's the same kind of staffing shortage caused by the same issues as everywhere else in the US. People aren't going back to work.

But this impression that hospitals are just overrun plague wards is erroneous.

Now one blames COVID for the trucker shortage do they?

Don't give them any more ideas for kicking the blame can around, that's probably already on the scapegoat list anyway.

I'll come again.... STOP, STOP looking at the infected figures. It's the deaths that count, ie. how deadly.
In my area in the UK the last 7 days there were 263,885 infected, a slight rise.
NOW deaths.....from the 25 th March next death 1 on the 5th of April. Then 1 death on the 2nd of May. Then 1 death on the 25th of June. Then 1 death on the 11 of July. Then 1 death on the 22nd of July. Then none to now, so that's from the 25th of March to the 6th of September there have been 5 deaths.
The hospitals are NOT blitzed with Covid, what they are blitzed with is all those patients that should have had regular hospital appointments which they stopped at the start of the supposed pandemic. They are trying to play catch-up, even withn the same staff there is a backlog of nearly 2 years.
