We're closer to the coast so our heat wave actually ends tonight.

I feel for the folks inland. Tomorrow is going to be brutal!

It’s Mid to high 80’s here ,in the lower Florida keys …will be like this all next week too,But it’s that time of year for us …. we have never had temperatures
Over 100 degree.Maybe it’s due to the island breezes? … stay cool everyone .

110 in central Cali today, no end to triple digits expected for weeks ,try and get all my outside work done between 5-10am, but still in the high 70’s at dawn ! The electric bill for AC is going to be a Beast this summer, but grateful we have it !

Good idea to leave out water for the animals and birds, our dogs camp out under the AC vents all day and sleep. Set up a canopy in the driveway, really helps to keep the car cooler, otherwise it’s unbearably Hot !

Hang in there everyone

I'm in eastern WA by the Idaho border and it's 99 today and going to be 104 tomorrow and 108 on Tues and Weds. then back down to 99.

This sucks because our summer is mid 80's normally.

I've actually been outside more than my dogs have. I think they've decided to permanently potty in the house now.

It's currently in the 70's in our house but my dogs and child are probably going to call protective services because it's still, "too hot" according to them.

I've been debating on whether they all need beatings or not.

I saw this meme in the funny pics thread and am stealing it. . . thanks to member EndTheMadnessNow.

I live outside of Portland so it's only 100 effing degrees right now and not 115 at PDX (Portland Airport)

We're having a heat wave. . . a tropical heatwave. . .

And I am not used to it.

Our house does have an air conditioner, but no central air since the average summer temp is 68F. That's like 3C for Europeans.

But it's HOT!

HotHotHotHot

How are the other PNW folks dealing?

I'm in hell, formerly known as B.C...30c(86f) with the AC full blast in my home..nope, not enjoying it at all.

No ac in the bedroom, about 38 in there..Im sleeping outside I think, I think it will still be 23-25 outside overnight.

75 is the cool side of where we keep our air set all summer. Normally we set it about 77 to 78, but then, we get normal temps in the 90s for most of the summer.

That's midwestern people and you are all, well, insane.

Normal room temps should be 64F.

It was only 80F on the central Oregon coast. 73 miles inland from me, it got up to 112F. We moved to the Oregon coast specifically to escape hot days. Honestly, 80F is too hot for me nowadays. I like it in the 60s and 70s.

It's usually 60F in the summer. I wear a sweater in the summer.

Usually.

But no.

It didn't get this hot in Oregon when Trump was president.

Thanks, Biden!

Hahahahaha

5000 PGE customers lost power due to the increased air conditioning strain near Portland.

www.koin.com...

Edit to add: looks like expected repair time will be 11:15 PM for most of the remaining outages after peak load drops.
Wonder if they will have rolling brownouts by Wednesday?

Now you are talking about temps like they keep in our office, and ... well ... we all complain about how the standard wardrobe there is always whatever goes with a cardigan. We're a freakin' office of English teacher stereotypes when it comes to our clothing.

All those cute summer tops? Yeah ... can't wear 'em or our goosebumps would get goosebumps all summer.
