I love mashed potatoes, but my route to heaven has always been via real spuds, boiled, mashed and devoured.
This video just popped up in my YT feed and it's an eye-opener! Logically, there's no reason why it shouldn't work and with all the different
flavoured potato chips/crisps, there's no limit to what weird and wonderful monster mashes you can do. Probably a lot better and healthier than your
typical Smash/powdered ready mix.
Although, I wouldn't try it with Pringles or other processed potato products.
My tip: I prefer to add cream cheese to my mashed potatoes rather than milk/cream/butter.
Anyway, here's Sam the Cooking Guy to explain it:
edit on 21-4-2021 by Encia22 because: Just mashing away until smooth and creamy
1. Place whole small (or 1/2 larger) potatoes into microwave on 3 minutes (with skin on)
2. Cut cooked potatoes in half
3. Place a cut half potato in ricer to mash, skin side up
4. Press ricer, then remove skin from ricer (repeat)
5. Add mix and seasoning of choice (which could be ground flavored chips too)
6. Serve and and enjoy
...and u “love” mashed potatoes? ... don’t do it! Ul hate urself in the morning, and every time u see a nice plate of mashed potato in the
future ul only feel the shame of tasting that gimmick and never be able to enjoy it ever again. *shame...shame...shame...*
Or you can buy Hungry Jack or some other "instant" potatoes. Very easy to make. Because if you're using potato chips to make mashed potatoes, you're
probably not worried about the health issues of instant mashed potatoes compared to fresh ones.
LOL, I never said I would. I explained in my first sentence how I make it and I can't see that changing anytime soon.
I was more intrigued by the idea it could be done. Perhaps in a camping, survival situation or post post apocalypse world where all that's left are
potato chips and you want some variety in the pathetic life that would ensue.
