Woke up to a winter wonderland this morning...only problem is...it ain't winter.
Everything is covered in white.
It reminds me of the scene in Christmas Story, where Ralph wakes up on Christmas Morning and looks out the window after the movie guys sprayed everything with flocking.

It's so beautiful.

This Spring looked so promising.
My grass, trees, flowers and plants were off to a great start...everything was robustly growing and flowering...leaf buds were coming out in force.
THIS was looking to be my yard's finest year.
Hope and rebirth was in bloom and on track for this year...at least in my yard.

THEN, last night...out of nowhere, comes the snow.

All my Birch trees and flowering trees are hanging low this morning...reports already of downed trees across roads from the weight of the leaves on the branches and heavy snow.

The flowering of Spring has been stopped in it's tracks this morning.
It feels like Mother Nature just said "F-U...no beautiful, flowering rebirth and blooming of Spring this year...it's all gonna be dead, ugly and totally suck like everything else, recently...Get used to it!"

Morning Rant concluded.

Woke up to snow here too, my dog likes it so I take some solace in that.

I'm so glad I haven't moved my garden from the closet to the yard yet...

OTOH, it may end the redbud season early, and ease my allergy symptoms...

It was so beautiful that my wife and I took a long drive in the country.

I was glad to see winter back, if only for a day.

Now you just need to take your official Red Ryder carbine action 200-range-shot model air rifle and put your eye out.

That happened here in the UK a week or so ago. The beautiful Magnolia tree outside my kitchen window was in bloom....gone overnight

Can see an odd one or two flowerheads coming, but it looks so sad and sorry for itself

Sucks for all the fruit trees, that were budding already.
Thankfully we didn't get the snow here, but I'm bummed the apples & pears & peaches are going to be in short supply this year.

It snowed here all afternoon and evening yesterday, this morning there is a coating of ice on everything with the temperature at 30 degrees right now.
If I thought I could talk my wife into picking up and getting the hell out of Michigan, I would be gone to somewhere that’s warm all year long.

Here in Michigan we have the annual freezing rain storm early-mid April to kill off all the buds. This year we had the special snow storm instead.

Same thing with my sister in Indiana.

Reminds me of when I used to live in Minnesota. Back then we had two seasons. Winter and road repair.

I also woke up to snow on the ground and tree limbs weighed
down with leaves and snow.I do have some purple onions that
had grown and they appear okay for now.I didn't plant them,I
had dumped dead plants into a dirt pile and these showed up
a while ago. I haven't started my garden yet.

In Oregon we have 2 seasons.

Too much rain, and fire.

I miss Midwest weather.
