How soon does China takeover Taiwan?

Looks like all the chess players are ready to make their move.

Russia / Ukraine / UK

US / US (how dumb is this, we are fighting ourselves!!)

Maybe I need to re-read the Art of War but I'm sure there is some strategy in here of

china never will take over with force, their posturing is just to distract the US while they slowly build up influence through business, investment and by supporting politicians running for offices, eventually taking over and controlling the island annexing it through "the democratic process", rigging a vote by cont.. i mean supporting everyone in an important position, just like hong kong.

I did a thread on Merkel leaning toward Russia for their gas. Bet this wont change that attitude. Which makes one wonder about where the EU might be headed, in addition to all the other crap mentioned above.

I am shocked China and Russia taken this long to act.

And lets not forget Iran is accusing Isreal of sabotaging a nuclear reactor. The world really is on edge 24/7/365.

Methinks you overrate the mainland Chinese and underestimate Taiwans military.

It'd by an amphibious landing, you don't think Taiwan knows exactly, down to the inch, where those spots are??

I read somewhere, that the attackers in such a scenario need a three to one advantage at the point of attack...that's going to be a tough row to hoe...given that Taiwan's military has been practicing just such a scenario for just about forever.

Though, I the PRC is willing to pay the butchers bill, they will win...numbers would tell in the end. That is, of course, assuming that the US, or others, don't become involved...

Unfortunately, Taiwan doesn't stand a chance without the US backing them.

The military power China has amassed in the last decade or so makes it a frivolous endeavor.

This is the time that China and Russia will be making there power moves, it obviously wont happen immediately, but wait a year or two. Eastern Ukraine will become Russia, and Taiwan will become China.

2023 i reckon.

China doesn’t need to match the entire US Navy as is commonly believed, they need parity with the US pacific fleet, which they will have in terms of ships in 2023.

Rumour has it Taiwan has nukes.Not very soon,if that is true.

Was just reading a bit on this and the US terminated its mutual defense treaty under Carter in 79. So even though we arm them heavily, there is no legal construct to defend them with military force. At least, thats the way I read it.
