Portland mayor want more police

Portland mayor Ted Wheeler wants $2 million to fund police because of the increase in gun violence.

"Days after Portland recorded its 20th homicide, Mayor Ted Wheeler said Thursday he’ll seek $2 million in one-time funding to allow more proactive policing on city streets with greater civilian oversight to try to stem a growing wave of gun violence."

I'm sure since he is a democrat that the term "unexpected" will be used many times in the near future.

To combat the "unexpected" increase in gun crime..

I mean who could have seen this coming?
Nobody has a crystal ball..
How could anyone know that lowering the chance of getting caught would embolden criminals?

If I was a cop and got a call to a certain few neighborhoods, I might take my sweet time to respond.
Not because I didn't care but it's a no win situation so it's probably best to show after the dust settles.

What good is having more cops if the cops get punished for arresting people who resist arrest? If cops are not allowed to shoot the criminals attacking others with weapons or attacking them it does no good. Wasn't Portland one of the places that would not let cops arrest rioters and arsonists? So they now think they can get away with things just because they are colored. A criminal is a criminal no matter what color or nationality they are.

A committee will meet to determine why this is Trump's fault and use critical race theory to solve the problem.

This is exactly what Biden supporters voted for.

They knew the Democrats wanted to defund the police.

They knew that was what they were voting for.

Well they got it. Just what they wanted and voted for.

Portland, Seattle, NYC, Chicago all Democratic run cities, all with huge defund the police movements should have to sit in the mess they made and see what a wonderful thing liberalism and progressiveism is and live with it.

Police are retiring and quitting in record numbers.

No sane person would take the job with liberals and progressives targeting the police for assassination on a regular basis now,
and with all the "you can't do this or that when trying to catch a criminal or you will go to jail for it". No one with integrity would take a job like this anymore. The Dems have turned being a policeman into being a systemic racist/sexist/homophobe/and generally terrible awful evil person. Who wants that for a job?
