All the singletons and divorcees are sticking out like sore thumbs now after god knows how many weeks without a haircut. No women folk in our lives to tidy us up.

Most people are in long term relationships and it's the girlfriend or wife who cuts the man's hair.

I'm single, my brother's divorced, and we both look like yetis.

Hairdressers/barbers will be open again from April 12 but there'll be a massive queue.

Getting desperate, thinking of cutting it myself.

I usually have a No1 so maybe if I just cut as much off as possible it wont look too bad.

Anyone done that?

I'm married and haven't had a hair cut in a year.

You live in a weird reality.

Hair clippers cost $20... Or they did twenty years ago when I bought mine.
Buzz Buzz, problem solved... If you care enough to bother?

It's hair, you'll be fine.

I was about to say the same thing. I've had clippers for 20+ years, they were cheap and in that time they've been used to not only trim my hair, but also my puppies. Saved me lots of money.

Not only that, but can't you just go get a haircut?? I know every state is doing everything differently, but here in CO we can still get haircuts, we just have to wear masks while getting one. Are there seriously no places near you that do the same?? Not being facetious, I'm seriously curious, is there truly no place near you??

The wife uses clippers on me.
I still look like a yeti, just one with short hair.

Last year I thought, I'm 35 and hair maintenance is a chore, am past trying to Impress anyone. So I decided to start shaving my head, no partner to approve or disapprove, so why not.

Best decision I made!

Obviously, not being a barber, I'm scared of ballsing it up. Surely you can see that?

Otherwise barbers would be out of business overnight.

I use a No 7 or 8 depending on mood , bit of gel to spike it a bit and job done.

Too old to have a trendy cut but young enough that it hasn't all gone grey or fallen out.

Yes, I think it's come to that with me. And I'm considerably older than you. Certainly not out to impress, but I just want to avoid looking like a dork. I like short hair but bald might be a step too far for me.

My last haircut was at least 15 years ago.
I think I can wait a lil while longer.

When you say "puppies", you mean the canine kind right?

Soon as mine started thinning i took the clippers to it. Twice a week a quick once over. Saves me fortunes on haircuts. Probably for the best, my long term partner and I split up a few months ago.

You and your brother should cut each others hair, but make sure to let him cut yours first. He'll probably try harder to do a good job, if he knows you're gonna have the scissors last.

ETA: I recently saw a commercial for this. I'm not saying it works, but IF it works as good as they claim it does in the commercial, then it might be exactly what you need.

Their slogan is "If You Can Comb It, You Can Cut It"

Just buzz it off dude... it’s what I’ve been doing for years.

The trick is to go just a little longer on top than the sides, so it doesn’t look so extreme. It’s clean, neat and more importantly done. Don’t have to worry about brushing your hair or any of that nonsense.

Cutting your own hair is easy. Just get a bowl and put it on your head. Now cut all the hair that falls below the bowl's edge. I promise you won't look like a dork!

That brings back unpleasant memories of childhood when my mother actually did that to me.

I'd be 10, 11. Laughing stock of the school.

I miss me old mum, long since departed bless her, but I'll never forgive her for that. That was nasty.

Makes me wonder if she did it on purpose for a laugh. Never subjected any of my other siblings to this atrocity.

Had that happen when i was younger as well. Unfortunately my Mum was half blind and the other half blind drunk when she cut my hair. The shame.

I'm not sure I can see it.
It's hair.
Literally grows back

I can't think of any way you could possibly screw it up so badly you wouldn't get over it in a few months.

Yeah it's the few months that bother me.

Suppose I could wear a bob hat.

Just gook up with Yetti girls and you will do all right, better than hooking up with the women who paste all kinds of stuff all over their face and spray their hair with all sort of chemicals. Hopefully our society has gotten away from the deceptive practice of making yourself look better by covering up the real person. This is the social reset that will be good for our country and cheaper for our citizens. People were spending way too much on their looks to fool others into believing they were not flawed at all...yet the flaw is that people believe they must be perfect looking to others. Be yourself, don't turn into a barby or Ken doll.
