Drove my Chevy to the Levee, But the Levee Was Dry

So, tomorrow would typically be our community's annual Levee at the local Legion and surrounding pubs. We dance, socialise, there's a giant community seafood chowder pot (probably both at the levee, and wherever the secret swingers end up afterwards 😂🤮), we drink, and afterwards we fill the coffers od our local donair shop.

Of course, it's cancelled this year, for the first year EVER, since it started in the '20's. I've never missed a levee in my hometown since I started sneaking in at 17. It's a tradition that will probably be the most communally missed event since the pandemic started.

It's a huge day for our local Legion, which donates the large profit from food and drink sales to help the elderly veterans in town. Small towns being what they are, whoever can spare their drinking money will hand it over to the Legion treasury, but this will be a hard year for all the veterans who typically recieve stipends or transportation funding, etc.

So, to a the small towners out there who usually gather together on New Years Day with their communities, I'm sorry there will be no hilarious fights; no bathroom rendezvous' to stoke the gossip fires for the New Year, no community chowder pot tomorrow.

If we're lucky, we'll sneak off to an illicit basement houseparty, and if we're REALLY lucky, it won't be the swingers party.

Happy New Years everyone, and don't forget to donate to the Legion, or whatever facility might host a levee in your town, keep them going until next year.

Who's going to miss out on their levee this year? What's your best levee memory?!

The scared citizens already gave up their rights and ours. Welcome to the new USA where you aren’t allowed to hang out with your friends or family.

Thank you for buying American as in USA. Regardless of what you read in the papers or see in the recalls, the foreign stuff isn't great. I have been a GM guy for almost my entire life. I am on my 2nd Colorado. We just put a complete set of tires on my wife 2019 Sante Fe Hyundai just two weeks ago at 29,000 miles. The OEM equipped set of 4 wore out. Looking at the warranty we found there is none on new OEM installs for wear.

OEM manufacturer is Hankook.

[1] I called them. Sorry no can help.

[2] I sent an email to dealer. Never heard back.

[3] I received a call from Hyundai headquarters in California. She left her name and I have the number on my smart phone. I left voice mails but never had a call back. So those sneeky sheets will say they called but customer never called back. That's the new game in town.

OEM warranty doesn't cover tires. They write to see OEM tire warranty. Guess what, it wasn't put inside the Owners Manuals Booklet Packet. I found warranty on Internet, Guess what, NO mileage warranty as in NO Pro-Rated warranty.

BUY AMERICAN............ Last Chance

Sometimes I envy people in tightly knit small towns. Thanks for sharing your story and sorry you guys couldn't have your swingers shindig this year. If they pull it again next year I'd have it anyway.
