Tillis attended a ceremony at the White House last weekend at which Amy Coney Barrett was formally nominated for a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court, according to CNN.
U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, a Republican from Utah and fellow member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, also was at the event and has tested positive, NBC News has reported.
Barrett herself tested negative on Friday, but the two senators, along with Trump, first lady Melania Trump and top adviser Hope Hicks, mean at least five people at the event have been infected.

As the article says, McConnell can enable that ability for the U.S. Senate too, if he wants to.

Due to 18 members of Congress being infected, Democrats enabled proxy voting. The barn-door is now open (Thanks Nancy!) and the Senate can enact proxy-voting to confirm Amy Coney-Barrett without any legitimate whining from Democrats.

Oh we both know they will THROW a fit, we just have to hold the Republicans feet to the fire and make them have a damn backbone

Something the Republicans could do here is just bypass the committee hearings and go for a full vote if they think they have the votes for confirmation. The Dems would scream bloody murder but they wouldn't be able to stop it.
