I got bashed by a cop in a small town when I was 16......
They were on my side after a random 14 year old bogan burnt my house down, in my statement they encouraged me to be loose with the truth so we could throw the book at this little prick... It felt good at the time, but another example of corruption.
I pgot icked on relentlessly in my 20s in aother small coastal town...
I was naughty but never dangerous, they just hated me. I hated cops for a long time.
Nowadays I often get stuck working with them... Some of them are alright, most of them seem like @R$EHOLES to me. Plenty of young tattooed hipster cops where I am, often they are just itching for a bit of conflict. The good ones don't last long in the force it seems.
I get the feeling they believe that the majority is behind the lockdowns, and the police will be fairly aggressive at this rally. Glad I won't be there.

Is it surprising that someone who has a friend that would burn their house down had "meetings" with the police.
I don't mean to judge...

BUT

I've gotta question the wording of "he found nothing".

In my experience police "incidents" only happen when someone has something they shouldn't.
I'm a scumbag with experience, and I've been a prick to many a policeman... But only when I wasn't at risk of being charged with something.

I get what your saying... but no, in this instance, this guy was just unhinged and thought he could get away with whatever he wanted.

Straight up though... Pretty sure he tagged my licence plate and saw that I'd been in trouble 5 years prior, due to a harmless yet controversial Horticultural hobby I may of had, to which no conviction was recorded... I should emphasize.

So yeah... nah, this guy was just totally out of control... My car was registered and roadworthy, I was fully licensed and had no warrants whatsoever, I was driving within the speed limit and was not doing anything out of the ordinary and I definitely had nothing illegal on me... I was just peacefully and legally driving though Ballarat.

But this prick who forcibly pulled me out of my car, with no probable cause whatsoever, was so cocky about how untouchable he thought he was that he didn't even think twice about performing an illegal stop and search.

The Ballarat police are unhinged and completely out of control... Hopefully the national coverage that this women's arrest has gained, will help to expose how out of control the Ballarat police actually are.

This is absolutely disgusting, draconian, authoritarian overreach!

"We pay for your hats, we pay for your hats - Victoria police a waste of government tax!"

Will be interesting to see if the protest in Melbourne goes ahead or just how heavily handed it is shut down.

The BLM protest with tens of thousands of people (not "socially distancing") was allowed to proceed unabated and with not a single individual being fined.....perhaps because it was a distraction from the dictatorship unfolding before our eyes.

F*** The Police State.

Not suprised here. OZ is one of if not the BIGGEST nanny state on the planet. Oz, should remind Americans, who have not been taught in school Civics, or political science, socialism is NOT a good idea.

We're not socialist except for Medicare which is actually a great thing. Americans are drinking the Kool Aid on that one.

Yep, your rights speak for your citizens over there splendidly. Here is a good example of Australia’s Nanny state authoritarian rule over its people.

I know. I live here.

What do you mean our rights speak for our citizens? You saying we are soft or something? You've obviously never met any Aussies or know much about our history particularly our roles in the world wars if thats what you think.

I was 17 years old, my brother was 15. It was our family home where we lived with our mum.
The 14 year old that burnt it down was unknown to us and it was a random burglary.
We “fitted” the perp up for aggravated burglary so he’d be off the street for longer.
I’ve never had a criminal record.
Never will.

Yeah, we ain't soft, obviously... but I am starting to wonder.

Maybe we've had it too good for too long and are becoming blatantly complacent.

I think you might be right mate, we've not had to fight for anything for a long time so it's not really part of the psyche anymore.

Push comes to shove I think at the core we're still tough......atleast out here in the country anyway.

I agree.... we’ve become somewhat soft.... but we haven’t been pushed too far yet.... they’ve managed to slowly boil the water on us poor frogs... but we shall see what happens when Aussies are pushed too far.

The police are refusing to back down on this one. Even if we entertain this logic that is seriously reaching, that her actions were selfish and a danger to people, they still could have just given her a warning. I mean ffs. But, in a way, this has at least awoken even more people. If they allowed the BLM protest, how can this attempt at peaceful assembly be any more selfish than that, in terms of spreading Covid?

Notice how he stresses, "we'll be ready for you, when you leave home, on public transport"

Wow. My country is almost unrecognizable now. Very grateful to be in QLD, but how much longer before this tyranny spreads more than the virus did.

Yep, it's insane to see this authoritarian crap spreading so quickly, though I suppose it's only expected seeing how Chairman Dan gets his marching orders directly from Beijing. I'm thankful to be up in QLD as well.
