And yes it's worth fighting back against this type of fear mongering and bullying. A few months ago I was told to "take a knee" by a group of 20-somethings. After I didn't, one pushed me and I broke his nose and shoved him into a few of his friends, knocking them down. I stood there and asked them to leave. I'm not sure why their attitude changed, but they got up and the whole mess of them left. Sure it's a little more volatile now, but then again the principle is the same.

They act out in groups to intimidate individuals, but if that person reacts quickly and violently against them, then they panic and run.

That depends on what one has IN their "fist" .
And it is not bravery nor fear.
It is a response to a threat.
No emotion involved.
