Muhammad Ali used a September 7, 1973 appearance on the Tonight Show to discuss his beliefs about UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects). He had first encountered a UFO while on a training run in 1970.

Uff... Incredible he is not offended by all the people laughing and ridiculing him.
He just opened up in front of those people and they laughed like he was a making fun or being silly.

That was cool,thanks.
He seemed quite sincere about it,and maybe did a bit of research as he said hes got photos and films of UFOs.

I was going to say he should watch out or he would have been on a watchlist,but he likley was by that time any way for converting to islam,

Oh yeah,he also had connections to the nation of islam before he became a sunni muslim,and the nation of islam have a whole part of their religion about this mothership wheel UFO in orbit round earth with god like intelligences on board-There was a thread here about it a while back.
MAybe that started his interest on the subject,along with his sightings.

BTW,so strange to see two heavyweights being civil to each other before a fight-not like the behaviour of todays goons..

This is a good example of the blind believer's mentality when confronted with an answer to something. Trying to detract from an Earthly explanation to holding tight onto their belief. With Ali saying "nah no no" without taking in the opposing view, blocking any other opinion than his own. The same used on this forum. Carson was a true skeptic and amateur astronomer who frequently had Carl Sagan as a guest. He respected Sagan's opinion because it was based on scientific method and not projecting a belief as truth.

It's too bad we don't have someone today like Sagan who can intelligently respond to hard-core believers.
