Missouri files lawsuit against China over coronavirus, Beijing calls claims 'absurd'

We knew it was coming, but I didn't think my home state would be the first in line. Missouri's AG Eric Schnitt had this to say...

"The Chinese government lied to the world about the danger and contagious nature of COVID-19, silenced whistle-blowers, and did little to stop the spread of the disease. They must be held accountable for their actions."

China's response?

"These so-called lawsuits are purely malicious abuses. Such abuses are not conducive to epidemic prevention and control in the United States, and also run counter to the current international anti-epidemic cooperation. U.S. should dismiss the indiscriminate lawsuit."

What did we expect them to say? We're sorry, how much?

I'm not so sure suing China has any merit at this time. It isn't as though there's any real gain to be had from it, even if they are guilty as charged. If the U.S. has enough evidence to make a case, then do it as a nation on the world stage and use sanctions to get the point across, but honestly, I'm not so sure that's such a great idea either. We would be better off taking advantage of their disadvantage and using it to our benefit as a nation. Source

In the meantime, maybe Missouri needs to do something to placate a growing unrest among their citizens that has led to protests for rights violations...

Sigh - it looks good and sounds good - and pretends to be " doing someting " - but its not the way the world works - and if the missouri AG doesnt know this - you need a new one fast

it may impress some merkins - but all this does is wastes money and effort

Precisely.

I wouldn't be surprised if some people are up for re-election there too. Using tax payer dollars for their campaign essentially.

Then people will start suing their own government for "mishandling".

Precedents will be set.

The way this was handled in some parts of the U.S some government douchebags should be sued into oblivion, well ok at least fired for incompetence.

Fired you say? More like retired with millions of dollars. America will not change til there is revolution. WW3 with China will be inevitable because everyone had always been poking China since the Opium war. First come, first serve. NWO will come whether you like it or not. Who you going to start calling Enemies after China?

Hopefully all of those who abuse authority. You're right though it'll all come with a revolution. Maybe it'll start in China?

All I know is the world should've isolated China a long time ago. No need to go to war just send them directly to jail and no collecting of the dollars. If they can't play fair, undercut everyone and stick with their oppressive ways then stone wall them.

They'll come round one way or another. I mean it's working with Iran right?

China is going to be China regardless, I'm talking about our elected leaders, they don't represent we the people they represent themselves and that should be insulting and unacceptable to all of us.

It may as well be. I'm sure China is shaking in their boots.
