Kim Jong Un in "Grave Danger" After Surgery

The US is monitoring intelligence that North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Un, is in grave danger after a surgery, according to a US official with direct knowledge.

Kim recently missed the celebration of his grandfather's birthday on April 15, which raised speculation about his well-being. He had been seen four days before that at a government meeting.

CNN has reached out to the CIA, National Security Counsel and the State Department for comment. CNN has also sought comment from the South Koreans.

Nothing else out there yet. I'll update as I see stories.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is receiving treatment after undergoing a cardiovascular procedure early this month, a South Korean media report said, amid speculation over Kim’s health following his absence from a key anniversary event.

Daily NK, a speciality website run mostly by North Korean defectors, cited unidentified sources inside the isolated state saying Kim is recovering at a villa in the Mount Kumgang resort county of Hyangsan on the east coast after getting the procedure on April 12 at a hospital there.

Kim left for the hospital after presiding over a meeting of the ruling Workers’ Party’s politburo on April 11, where Kim was publicly last seen, the report said.

Pyongyang fired multiple short-range missiles last week which Seoul officials said were also part of the Kim Il Sung birthday celebration. Such military events would usually be observed by Kim, but there was no KCNA report on the test at all.

It will be fun to see CNN spin little Kimmy's death into being Trump's fault because he hates Koreans. They will work hard to make him the greatest leader North Korea has ever known.

will the military take control?

I doubt it. She's a bit of a wildcard, but I don't know if her influence translates to "power" necessary to seize the throne, as it were. Being tight with the old dictator hasn't traditionally been an automatic path to ascension to power in the resulting vacuum. Just as often an opposing faction grabs power and rids themselves of the leftovers of the old regime.

Or CNN is just full of # as usual. Their whole BREAKING NEWS article is based on somebody who knows something says Kimmy is gravely ill. Now that's some excellent reporting from the New York Times school of journalism.

for what its worth guy on reddit says "his sources tell him" that Kim had a Stent installed in his heart and his heart stopped on the table and hes now at home allegedly recovering but not like he posted a source so who knows

This guy should be a CNN anchor cuz he has "sources" with no names.

It seems like an odd thing to invent. What motivation would CNN have to manufacture this particular tale?

He's already getting settled into the bunker and hanging out with his pall Jeff Epstein.
They may say that K Jong dies, but it is all lies!
