Mods if you feel as though I should have placed this in another forum please fix my honest mistake.

So I have been working from home and then just the other day I was let go......
So now I have to fall back on my savings. This whole thing sucks dude. All the bull crap I have had to endure this past year has just been borderline unendurable.
My savings and what not will last about one maybe two years. And I was just about to move but now I cannot.
I can’t leave my home cause either I mucked up or the state did, my travel paperwork is off.
This stay at home order is freaking getting to me.
I need to make money man and add to my savings. I worked so damn hard to rid myself of debt and now this

If anyone else is truly going through the same please rant on!

Yeah. That's why it's a lock....down.

Not a lock party, or lock celebration, or lock ness.

It's affecting me, but for other reasons.

Feelin’ for you, it sucks.
Hang in there, it will get better because it has to.
No other choice.

It sucks around to be sure.

Take some time ... try to relax ... this can be an opportunity.

I picked up a new client two weeks ago, one I'd been working on for five years.

We never know what's coming next. Lack of control is tough. Find the things that 'feed' you.

Hang in there, it's rough for a lot of us. I have neighbors directly above me and next door who are treating this as an excuse to party and have friends over (loud music, loud sex, lots of drug odor/liquor bottles clanking)- I understand that everyone is reacting to their individual situation in a different manner, but to someone who takes the lock-down seriously (at least until I have more information) seeing/hearing this party-like atmosphere all around makes enduring this pandemic more of an ordeal.

Things are tough all over. The unaffected will continue to kick us while we're down.

Stay strong and stand tall bud. All things must pass.

I can't move either, it sucks for real.
You could pay your rent 3 months in advance...Reduce stress and anxiety...
You could look at your cable bills and get a cheaper package.
Maybe your cell phone plan and land line plan can be lowered. I like the unlimited incoming calls option...
You could think about changing your diet...I don't know if you have a family to feed.
Kraft Dinner has enough protein in 1 box...Sardines are cheap in Canada also healthy...Great to mix with a pack of Mr.Noodles. I just hate to see anyone dip into their hard earned savings.
Beans and a big bag of rice is a healthy staple and is also cheap in Canada...
For now, you can skip the extras, like paper towels and napkins..
Corn Flakes with a little milk for breakfast. Protein powder mixed with water may be cheaper than milk and can be put on cereal in vanilla or chocolate flavors...
Skip the expensive stuff like steaks and stuff.
Think about starting a home business if you can, or take a course online to get you ready for the next interview...
Keep your spirits up. Start indoor exercise routine like martial arts or calisthenics...To beat depression...
You will be stronger and a better employee than before...I am a web Designer that's why I don't mind this lockdown...Mind you, there is very little business these days because everyone wants to do it themselves with wordpress...I also invest in microcap companies on the toronto venture exchange...I think the USA and the NASDAQ is way better though...
Maybe flip your car, fix it up, a little body work, detailed inside and out, engine shampoo.
Stop paying insurance for 3 months...
Good Luck! Keep your heads held high. We are all soldiers in this war.

Not sure how old you are, but I went through the worst of the worst in 08. Now looking back I see it was a blessing in disguise.

It sounds stupid, but try to stay positive and don't let it get you down.

I agree with you. This totally sucks. I like what Firebird and Centsay said. Some great advice there. I’m retired and living on a fixed income, no savings to speak of to fall back on, until the last few months. I started doing online surveys for money. I make a modest amount, about $150-$200/month give or take. But I’ve been able to plunk some of that money away and start a modest savings. Between that and the stimulus money, I paid off two credit cards and six months worth of car insurance premiums. That gives me a little breathing space financially. Plus it’s something to do to take up some of my day. There’s only so many chores/spring cleaning I can do. Hang in there. This too shall pass.

Just a few notches more and we'll go to "survival mode" 100%, then money won't be in use anymore. Few notches less and we'll be back to "normal".

In both cases, I don't think it'll take more than one year. So my best advice is take some temporal job, like delivery driver for example.

It's effecting everyone in some way, I hesitate to say stir crazy, but there are similarities.
Here in the UK, there is this huge effort by our government.. to create a guilt complex if you don't follow the government demands, AKA you will overwhelm the NHS if you don't follow the guidelines of social distancing, (those guidelines being perfectly sensible of course in any pandemic) however, the reality of the NHS being overwhelmed is fully because the NHS has been systematically been deprived of funding for decades, making it almost bankrupt in some areas, and where Quango 'medicators' spent more on 'management' than care..but you can see through the trick of Government using their total inadequacy, to blame other people if things go wrong because things were not right in the first place, Trump uses the same idea in blaming the states+political hits for his own administrative Faux Pas.

So, yes it is hurting a lot of people, however this virus is real as it is, how it got there is something else, what it will become is also something else, the parameters are unknown, maybe even wrong to say, " this virus" when it will surely mutate..hopefully to a lesser regime, but only time will tell.

Amazingly, I can print this quote of G.W Bush when he read a book of the 1918 Flu' epidemic, he told his admin in 2005,
'If we wait for a pandemic to appear, it will be too late to prepare'...not a great fan of G.W. but somehow despite the wording, he was correct.

I’m 32 and I was young when the 08 debacle happened.
I am fortunate enough that I have family to fall back on if need be but that is a nuclear option.
I made sure long before all of this to ensure I exceeded FEMA recommendations. Thanks god I did so.
Just the whole not making income sucks. I hate spending when I have nothing coming in.

I really don’t want to but at the same time I can’t just not make money.
I am way over qualified for such a job but at the same time that may be the only job atm.

Some money is better than no money

Hey bro! I was feeling the same a few days ago. For me it helps to take a step back and put things in perspective a little:
We live in a day and age where we can still contact and friends and family via skype / facebook etc and age where we have huge amounts of entertainment available online. Our forefathers were not so lucky, and their lockdowns would have been hell.

I am not telling you to harden up, far from it. For me, this just helps me keep a grip on the reality, because it does suck, but it could be worse.

I find when I am depressed, the best thing I can do is go sit in the sun. Unfortunately, due to the type of lockdown where I am, I can't even leave the house. However, I sit on the balcony and lean out a window to make sure those precious rays hit my skin and get the vitamins and brain chemistry back in check. Seriously, please do this if you are not getting out.

Make sure you are eating good food too, as someone who has struggled with depression throughout my life, I know this also has a big impact. Once you get your diet right, you will find you have more energy for working out and excercise too. This can be really hard when you are feeling down but just start with a crazy small amount, and then add to it day by day.

If you ever want someone to talk to, send me a message, we can play a game online together or just laugh at the state of the world (try it, it helps too).

Last but not least, stop reading about the world so much unless you can take it all with a grain of salt and have a little laugh. If you are getting overwhelmed by all negative info, you are probably an intelligent guy and just need to give your brain a little break from trying to problem solve it all.

Originally I thought this whole thing was way blown out of proportion. But after seeing the local map of confirmed cases around me kinda is getting to me. I and am sure most others living in a high risk area may feel the same.
I always thought I was untouchable..... not the case as I now feel unsafe.
So I have been forcing myself to play games. At least it keeps me occupied.
