God is a Trafalmadorian?
Cool. But I still don't get why we should have to tell Him we're in a mess. What does omniscient mean?

Why do we have to tell him? Because he thinks it's just so cute when we do. He gets a kick out of it, I'm sure.

So, he's a petty god.

At least he doesn't ask for virgins. For himself, anyway.

Or a loving God who adores us. I bet He likes you, too. You should talk to him about it sometime. Not out loud..in your head .

In science there are the four fundamental forces of nature.....electromagnetism, the weak nuclear force, gravity, and the strong nuclear force. I believe there is a fifth force....prayer. Prayer effects not only the physical, but the mental and spiritual as well. So pray for the people of the world, even those in countries that you don't like.
And if you don't believe in prayer....then direct thoughts of love towards your fellow man. Thoughts have power too.

Is "FAITH" the 6th force? It's powerful in scientific studies involving placebos.

Well intended thoughts are always best when backed up by appropriate action.

If only the rest in your cult would follow that same awesome line of thinking.

Could you remember my friend Nicole in your prayers.

She has cancer and couldn't get her treatment today because
of the virus. She has to wait a whole month before she can come
back. I'm worried about her.

Doing that right now....and that God fills her and her loved ones with the peace that transcends human understanding....God's peace that the Bible speaks of.

Really.

Where was he when the Catholic priests abused all those children in His name?
- He did nothing and let it happen.
Where was he when I was a child and abused by my father, when I begged Him for help, to make it stop, when I prayed and NOTHING ever happened?
- He did nothing and let it happen.

I could go on, but it's a waste of typing. Point is, you're free to pray to whatever you believe. But don't try to feed us that horsesh*t that 'god' loves and adores us. It is clear our human definition of love, caring, protection and adoration (like what i feel for my children) is VASTLY different to what your 'God' feels...

Prayer is like homeopathy.

No scientific evidence that it works, but some people think it does, if only at a placebo level.

I too have experienced some pretty horrific things at the hand of someone who was supposed to love me...and I have learned things about myself I could not have learned any other way. The experience has bettered me in ways that nothing else could have. And that happened by me turning to God for guidance and insight. And by trusting that God won't let me endure more than I can handle.

God knows what we need before we ask for it...even when we don't know what to pray for.

Well, sure... I mean, he caused it. He causes everything, apparently. Or he can prevent it, but wont unless we pray, and even then he wont.

I'm otta this one before I say something wrong.

Thank you so much she asked me to pray for her and after I finished
I decided to come here and go for more. She's sleeping right now.

I will pray with you. Count it as good when you are ridiculed and put down by this world. Jesus told us no man is greater than his master. The world hate him and crucified him and we too who believe will be despised and treated with contempt. He also said to not through pearls before swine lest they trample them then turn to trample you , so I usually don't put much out here but to give you comfort Miss I will post this from 1 Corinthians:

27but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,

Us ? lol You gotta mouse in your pocket amigo? Cause when you say us
you must be inclusive of other members with daddy issues. Maybe you
should take all that hate and do something constructive with it? Instead
of try'n to dictate what comes across these boards like some theology Nazi.
Or whatever you think you are.

I'm truly sorry to hear that. I don't know where you are but this should not happen. I lost a child to cancer. The treatments are horrible but it does prolong and sometimes save lives. While some people worry about toilet paper, others are suffering.

I hope the best for Nicole.
