March 8th Is International Women\'s DAY?

I just read that March 8th is International Women's day nad a national holiday in the Russia and many of its former satellites. I had never even heard of it, doesn any one else think that is pretty sad??

Jeez i thought someone would have replied, maybe I should have said something controversial like women's day is a total waste of time and money!

I noticed that too, in fact if it wasn't for google and their holiday logos I would miss a lot of them.

I have never heard of Woman's day before today, maybe since it is an international holiday it doesn't get much press stateside?

It was indeed.
There were many things going on today to celebrate it.
A group I'm part of, The Red Tent, set up a tent and distributed alternative menstrual products and education information to promote awareness of alternatives.

It was a good day, and very successful.
