Quentin Tarantino’s theatrical cut of “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” is the only cut he wants in theaters around the world. Variety has confirmed the director will not be recutting his ninth feature film in order to allow it to have a release in Chinese theaters.

News broke earlier today China was blocking the October 25 theatrical release of “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” for unspecified reasons.

I say good for him. More companies need to start telling China to take it or leave it. I understand they have a huge market, but I really do not like seeing how many western companies kiss the Chi-coms butt just so they can sell their products there.

The west should be helping the people of China in anyway they can. Not helping the Chinese government brainwash and suppress the people there.

I wonder if it is because of the Bruce Lee scene that Lee’s daughter got pissed about. She claimed it misrepresented him.

I think that is the problem.

Good for him. Something tells me China will do their own "Homeland Cut" anyway.

My first thought was finally a liberal with spine .

Then I got to thinking that besides Taratino and Trumps dust up about Django Unchained.

I haven’t heard a word out of Taratino negative on trump .

Maybe he’s in the bunker . ( closet just didn’t seem like a good fit )

Good. Parker and Stone recently got banned in China from the South Park episode Band in China, which parodies the Chinese censorship.

Bunch of wusses.

Or maybe he just has his own mind, and as an artist, not being a big fan of censorship, doesn't give a flying fornicate (sorry, its the ATD word of the day), whether he offends leftsissies or rightsissies.

Well hell I’ve known that since reservoir dogs .

Quentin Tarantino definitely doesn’t give a horizontal bop .

Never watched the movie. Everybody says its good. I got like 15 minutes in and lost interest. Maybe it will be better as it goes on. Got to watch it I suppose.

But ya, like somebody mentioned its probably because of the Bruce Lee scene. Which from all I heard is just a spin on him and Gene Lebell dispute as they were both stuntmen and working together at some point in hollywood.

Pretty sure the Tarantino flick is way over dramatized and embellished in the Bruce Lee fight scene.

From what I read online years ago. Gene just picked Bruce Lee up and did a little jog around the lot before putting him down when he started to get flustered, and could not get down by himself. Just to prove a point. nothing more came of it, or whatever they had in the Tarantino movie.

Then Lee started to get more into Judo and grappling from there on.

Could have been worse for Bruce for sure. I think he once choked out Steven Seagal and made him run to the bathroom because he # his pants when he came to.

But Gene Lebell, would wreck Bruce Lee if they ever fought, there not only the wrong weight class, but in his prime he was no slouch, and even in his stuntman days could plop most people on there heads no issue I bet.

Kind of like Mike Tyson, even in his 50s and lost a lot of his weight and muscle and reflex. Could shut most peoples lights out easy peasy, if he wanted to.

As left as CA is Trump still got 32.8% of the vote and close to half the districts. There are a lot of closet Republicans in CA. The media makes it sound like he has zero support. People would be shocked if they knew some of the celebrities that voted form him but say otherwise in public. I would not at all be surprised if he voted for Trump.

This bowing down though to China is not going to stop. We are about making money. It has always been this way even during the Revolutionary War. If the British army is paying top dollar for rations why sell to Revolutionary armies which did happen. Eventually though China will break. Their control over that country is fairly weak. At some point it will break. All countries break at some point.

All of his other movies, including Inglourious Basterds, Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill franchise, have been banned by censors, but his acclaimed new slave western will open across the nation on 11 April (13). The film has already become Tarantino's most successful worldwide, raking in over £250 million since its release in December (12).

He didn't mind collecting the bucks off the Chinese with Django Unchained....But I guess it was because it showed a darker side of US history.....hahahaha

Whilst I love his movies as entertainment value you do realize that Tarantino IS PART OF HOLLYWEIRD?

And Weinsteins money was good until it all came out - yeah right Quentin

“I knew enough to do more than I did,” he said, citing several episodes involving prominent actresses. “There was more to it than just the normal rumors, the normal gossip. It wasn’t secondhand. I knew he did a couple of these things.”

“I wish I had taken responsibility for what I heard,” he added. “If I had done the work I should have done then, I would have had to not work with him.”

A large portion of Cali is Red. It just doesn't matter as all the big cities are deep blue so anyone not living in LA has no say.

Good for him! It's his vision. His movie. His to do with what he wants. All China has to do is (dun dun dun) not watch it.
