Two plus two may equal four, but if the student says five, you better not correct them, oppressor! Math, in Seattle schools, will become a social justice course. But that’s not all. The U.S. government will be posited as a racist institution that must be destroyed. If this is taught to students, it’s indoctrination at its most destructive.

Believe it or not, progressives/left-wingers in Seattle schools are now claiming that math is an oppressive system being used to leave behind people of color oppressing them.

What's more, they also claim that math was invented by people of color but that it has been turned into an oppressive system against people of color.

It seems that the left's purpose is to make students dumber, not smarter. Perhaps this is happening in the continuous attempt at indoctrinating America's children into the left-wing agendas, and to do so children have to grow up to be dumb adults whom won't even be able to add 1+1 in the not so distant future.

Meanwhile nations like China will continue to pound their own students into becoming smarter and smarter.

When you thought that the left's agenda couldn't become any dumber than it already is, they come up with more stupid arguments in which "if you attempt at making kids smarter through math, you are oppressing them..."

Calling math racist is actually calling anyone not White, Asian or Middle Eastern as incapable to understand math, and that there is racist.

Oh wow the mental gymnastics on this is hilarious! POC invented math but at the same time it’s a weapon used against them because it’s hard for them to learn it. We are reaching peak stupidity

This is what they are teaching our kids who go to public school.
Also why when I see schools and teachers wanting to raise taxes I have to laugh. If they are teaching this to kids, they ought to be arrested for child abuse.

If you've seen the way they are teaching math now. You'd call it oppressive too.

Trying to multiply 5 x 40 turns into a 15 minute exercise of boxes and other craziness.

My kids get frustrated trying to solve some of the stupid word problems they send in their homework.

And then they don't send home a textbook for you to see what they are learning. Just some worksheet from a workbook. And you're sitting there scratching your head and searching google to figure out how they want the problem solved.

1+1=2. the best part of math is, it is objective. its right or wrong.
but they want to dumb down the masses, they need a ruling class, and everyone else.

and judging by faceboook, many, many of my friends will roll over and take their new math up the whazooo and call it ice cream smiling.

Went through with helping my children then my grandchildren.
Not much has changed since my day.

Public schools are difficult to navigate for your kids. But my kids math skills and reading skills are the result of hard work by my child, wife and I. My kid is in the top 95 percentile rating in the nation on math and reading and is 2 years ahead on math compared to her classmates. My kids public school which is actually really good acts more like a baseline to understand what areas we need to work on


The truth is schools don’t actually teach children anything they assign homework. All the hard work and teaching is done by the parents later at home. Eventually parents helping your children succeed will be looked at as oppression if your not a poc

That said,this is , assuming it is accurate, a silly side elective course almost no one will take.. more than that... I bet it is a proposal for a new silly side elective... not even one that has ever been installed and approved..

My favorite was “student arrested for wearing T-shirt with image of a gun!!”

What actually happened is the school had a “no political T shirts policy.. so the kid was asked to reverse his clearly political shirt..

The kid refuses and gets in a screaming match with the teacher. So he is sent to the office.. he then takes a swing at the school resource officer, then is arrested for assaulting an officer..



And every conservative media site on the planet pretended he was arrested for wearing a shirt with a picture of a gun in it...

That would be a good video, except for the fact that in the video they blame "conservatives" and the teacher is labeled as a "liberal elitist."

So even that video got it wrong. It is not conservatives whom want to dumb down our students, it is the "liberals/progressives" whom are doing it.

It took me a little while to get the way theyre being taught, but when multiplying any number bigger than 1 digit the way makes sense. But Iearned it on my own and only use it for multiplying big numbers. They should be being taught to do actual write out math and this way to do math in your head.
Say 16x32.
10x32=320...6x32 is 192. 320+192=512.
That was obsiouly simple but I'm not a very scholarly person and in my mid 20s I randomly learned how to use 10s to multiply.
So it kind of does make sense.

:edit: figured out 6x32 by doing 6x30, then I added 6x2.
So break down the numbers to use in 10s and its simple.

But yeah this is the dumbest crapola ever.

I get it. But seeing the level of frustration from my kids and hearing about the frustration levels from other parents kids tells me this is not being taught right.

Not sure if the kids are at the level where they can get a good handle on this.
