I feel bad for the A/V person at the center of this controversy, if it was indeed an honest mistake (I have no reason to doubt that at this time), but you need to be careful what you find on the Internet. "Trust but verify" comes to mind.

I wish the A/V person good luck in the future and hopefully this incident doesn't hound them forever. Mistakes happen. Learn from them and do better in the future.

Any govt seal has to be specific and authorised, not just sourced from google. At least where I am, and I worked in the government sector. Official logos were the only ones used, and we had them located on our servers.

Google Image search? Yeah, nah... lol

The A/V person didn't work for the Government nor is TPUSA a part of the Government. They were the ones doing the presentation and the White House or any Government agency did not produce the presentation.

I agree that the seal has to be specific and authorized, ON OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS. This was not an official government function. This was a private organization that invited the President to speak at their conference. The private organization was responsible for the audio visuals and therefore they were responsible for sourcing the materials used in the presentation. I am sure if they realized ahead of time that the Seal of the POTUS was needed they could have asked for it from the WH forward team, but it looks like it was a last minute addition and time was a factor (at least that is what is being claimed).

Unless there is actual EVIDENCE to the contrary, I see no reason to doubt it was a mistake. A very VISIBLE mistake.

Sometimes last minute changes come about and corners are cut. Sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes it becomes a disaster. This is in the last category as far as the PR goes.
