I've been hearing alot about the new HBO show euphoria. I dont have the channel so I cant watch the series which I probably would skip anyways.

For those that haven't heard this show is about teens dealing with issues that teens deal with.
I guess..

"HBO's provocative new teen drama Euphoria kicks off with a graphic first episode featuring a drug overdose, revenge porn and a statutory rape scene between a trans character and a married father-of-three and sets social media alight"

The first episode seems to be about a toxic older white man raping an innocent girl and a bunch of shirtless toxic males revenge porning another innocent girl.

Apparently the scene with the older man sexing up a transgender uses a prosthetic erect penis....
Umm... why bother with a prosthetic?
Seriously...

There is also an episode with 30 Male body organs in the locker room. Not sure if it's this episode or not.

www.dailymail.co.uk...

I guess shock value is worth something.

For some reason this is what television has come down to today. It feels cheap and lazy.

Netflix put out a series called 13 reasons why that told a story of a girls rape and suicide that didnt need to show everything.
The characters both good and bad were shown with great depth.

I dont know if euphoria will tell a story or push an agenda but if I had to venture a guess it would be the latter. Time will tell.

Anyone looking forward to seeing euphoria?

I'll check it out since I like most of what HBO produces. If it's good I'll keep watching.

I just started Showtime's City on a Hill which is about the racist white cops of Boston and their treatment of the blacks, a program sure to cause the heads of triggered marys to explode.

And it has Kevin Bacon.

Between the two of them they have had some of the best shows in TV history with HBO having the large edge.

Evil? Really?

I don't think I would watch it either but seriously isn't saying it's evil a bit much?

Yeah I suppose.
But at the same time I can watch a lot of Netflix and hulu originals that are very good too.
Netflix especially has some great ones.

Like I said, I'm cheap and there's only so much time in a day.

Yes, glorifying oversexualization and exploitation of youth while at the same time promoting degeneracy is evil.

Well.....ok then
Clearly you have spoon fed BS for some time now. HBO makes some of the best shows to watch. But you right on and watch whatever you want.
As for the OP I may give this a watch but the premise of the show is not one that interest me. I’ll let ya know if it is actually good.

I don't own a TV and from what you described it seems I will not need one.

A lot more channels than what I grew up with. I think there were 5 or 6 when I was a kid then cable came out and there was HBO and stuff it was pretty awesome for a while. About ten years ago maybe more I noticed that even though there were more channels almost all the shows were crap. Reality TV was the beginning of the end for me. I am sort of curious what those who have and watch TV now consider good shows. I don't have TV but the internet allows me to find anything worthwhile, but I haven't downloaded a show since the Expanse series.

Reading the link you posted, it looks like that was a character played by Eric Dane?

I've seen him in other things, apparently he might still want to be an actor and have some boundaries.

To me if he was worried about boundaries he wouldn't be filming a scene that called for an erect penis.
But now that you mentioned it I wonder if the shower scene used prosthetics?

I know there are several actors that will not film a sexual scene with anyone because they are married.
Many females will not appear topless either.

Funny, teens having to deal with issues. I am over 60 and when I was a teen, we dealt with our own issues. We weren't over medicated, we didn't have school shooting sprees and things went pretty much according to plan. Oh, and we knew which washroom to use.

Cheers - Dave

Just goes to show.

You can't escape politics.

I am sure there are those that think it's must see tv, but it shows just how vulgar 'Murican society has become.
