Some U.S. Embassies fly the Gay Pride Flag Next to the United States Flag.

Nothing wrong with showing support to a marginalized demographic for a month.

I think at this point it could be argued that they WERE marginalized. Now they pretty much have no opposition in this country, outside of (ironically) some immigrant groups from other cultures which they believe they are aligned with.

I think it's only healthy to recognize progress, progress being that a group can move from being marginalized to accepted and no longer requires the special treatment that it did while attempting to be pulled into acceptable mainstream society.

A flag with a man stick'n his little wee wee up another man's butt I think would be more appropriate type of flag. That is their nation, a nation of weird sex behavior. That type of flag would go well with 90% of the people, they want pride flag, lets give it them like they give it to the 90% who need a flag for normal sexual relation between man and woman.

Fire those in the embassies .

Gay Pride encompasses more than just men having sex with men. There's lots of variations that involve men, women, other animals, and inanimate objects too.

The heads of Embassies who defy the rules will most likely be terminated, if the big boss in Washington has integrity. Who is the "big boss"? Anyone know?

Here's some food for thought on the origins of the flag, and it's evolution.

I didn't know it lost some of it's colors over time.

It's less about gay pride now then it was back when it first appeared. It's more about inclusiveness to all forms of accepted sexuality, including straight people.

this is quite frankly disgusting

why would you sully the storied and respected colours of our beautiful flag by hanging it alongside that of a jingoistic imperialist killing machine

If a Confederate flag was being flown heads would roll.

No flag should be raised except the American flag.

I see a lot of similarities or references to other "groups".

All groups should be held in equal regard, if they are a marginalized group, they should be bolstered until they are normalized.

Once normalized, it's pretty much a mechanism that requires no "user input" to alter it's status.

If you continue to bolster a normalized group, you will move from normalization to exceptionalism, moving a group ABOVE the normalization point and giving it preferential status.

It's an undesired outcome, for any group, whether by race, sexuality or religion.

As long as it's a smaller flag and flown below the US flag in accordance with the policy, then who cares?

What if it's an embassy in a country where Gays are punished?

I read a story yesterday about a country that punished a "gay pride" advocate by pushing him off the roof a building, with a rope connecting his genitals to a beam on the roof. (I didn't watch the video.)

Even some countries are strongly against special interest flags being flown on U.S. embassies.

Fly the pride flag high in the air in the US embassy in Russia, probably start riots, and I bet if you tracked internet traffic it would spike.

The only other “special interest” flag they should be flying is the Gadsden flag.

As an internet expert on the gays, I can safely say that the gays are in charge. Once you take over a place you raise your flag.

The gays have won.

ALL HAIL OUR NEW GAY OVERLORDS!

And in all honesty, this is stupid. Virtue signaling at it's finest.

The embassy in Santiago, Chile shows a video on its website of a diplomat flying a rainbow flag last month for the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobiaand Biphobia, and the website for the Vienna embassy features a photo of the same flag.

Having a problem with a man/woman who thinks they are the opposite sex and use modern medicine to make superficial changes doesn't make them a phobe.

They're just not a science denier.

Biology 101. Ya know, Bi-o-logy ? A that thing that makes 'feelzing' irrelevant.

And go jingoism.

Be proud at your idolatry.

Anybody can fly any flag they want on their property but this is a US Embassy. The only flag flying there should be the US flag. It's supposed to be a representation of our country abroad. There's no reason any special interests should get any room on the pole alongside the Stars and Stripes. We also have a Black History month every year, do we run flags with MLK Jr's image up then? If we do, we should stop that as well.

There was a bill introduced in Congress last year to prevent flying other flags with the U.S. flag at embassies. But I think it was never voted on.

Yep. Flying the gay pride flag would be very offensive at some U.S. embassies.

I had to look that up. You're referring to the "Don't Tread on Me" flag.

Yes.
Every US Embassy around the world should fly it.

During the Obama Administration, flying the Gay Pride flag at embassies and consulates around the world became the normal thing to do.

That is really weird that the embassies fly that flag at their places in other countries. Some countries frown on that kind of stuff, sounds like poor public relations tactics to flaunt a flag that they may not agree with.

That does not sound like a good diplomatic practice to me. I think the government should stay neutral on that issue, yes give them equal rights at home and stressing equality in diplomacy, but not promoting gay pride by flying their flag..
