A question on linking.

I had a thought about a collaborative ATS story thread but didn't want to fill the thread with the history, backstory, story arc, characters and everything behind the story.

I just wanted the people on ATS that wanted to participate have the information.

I was going to throw together a dogpile-hosted site with the goods on it... so no attempts to make money off of it, no banners, etc.

Technically I'd be paying for it to make a cleaner thread.

Just a repository of thoughts that could be available to the writers without having to post it all on ATS so the thread could be about the actual writing.

Is that within the T&C's?

I think so....seems it would fit our criteria as you suggest.

Why not contact a mod...ASKTHEANIMALS is a pretty straight forward moderator!

I was hoping for a public response so everyone is on the same page is all before I start work on it.

I thought you were looking for board business response.

I don't care for the collaborations where people can jump into an ongoing story and change it, messing up the rules of the universe.

I would sort of favor the concept of separate but linked threads, like the contests. One thread for background; one as an index, linking back to the background and also a place for people to add links to their own story for that world.

1) Background - general layout
2) Index to 1) and containing links to individual submissions.
Stories written as stand-alone in Collab, linked to 2).[ Title of Story[ Coren ] ]

Something like that.



Here is an example:
ladyinwaiting had an idea in August 2016 Bitches and Sad Ladies -- the thinking thread in general chit chat.
Then Bitches and Sad Ladies -- short stories from members in Collaborative writing.
